  1. I think you are correct Ron!! It has been so long since I installed a version of MC, I have forgotten everything about fine toning it. I will install Verisurf on the computer
  2. Hello to everyone. I haven't post in a long time. My company has finally upgraded my computer and I am having a few issues with MC and other items Windows changes. I will list the issues one at a time so maybe we can work thru them one at a time. I am on a Dell Computer T5500 Windows 7 Pro Nvida Quadro 4000 video card X5650 Processor We are still use X2 (Hope to upgrade MC soon!! One step at a time with small business owners) I have MC X2 MR2 running. I copied most everything over from my old computer to the new one. I have issues when I start MC. Seems to be Chook location problems, I don't know this for sure. I copied my Chook folder from old computer. I am posting a screen shot of some of the alarm messages that i am getting. Please give input. I realize this is a very old version of MC, but like I said, I hope to upgrade soon. Thanks for input!!
  3. From "My Bleeping Computer Website" Looks like a file in your System Restore folder, these are not scannable by malware tools. Reset your restore points to remove it.. Create a New Restore Point (alternate method) to prevent possible reinfection from an old one. Some of the malware you picked up could have been backed up, renamed and saved in System Restore. Since this is a protected directory your tools cannot access to delete these files, they sometimes can reinfect your system if you accidentally use an old restore point. Setting a new restore point AFTER cleaning your system will help prevent this and enable your computer to "roll-back" to a clean working state. The easiest and safest way to do this is: Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and click "System Restore". Choose the radio button marked "Create a Restore Point" on the first screen then click "Next". Give the R.P. a name, then click "Create". The new point will be stamped with the current date and time. Keep a log of this so you can find it easily should you need to use System Restore. Then use Disk Cleanup to remove all but the newly created Restore Point.
  4. My AVG says I have a bug. Avg will not fix the problem. So I have ran my Malwarebytes, and it will not remove it either. I need to get this bug removed before I can fix the editor. This is what I am getting from AVG: Detection Name: The file is signed with a broken digital signature, issued by Malwarebytes Corp. Description: C:\System Volume Information\_restore{46DE8921-1D39-44D2-A9E9-64119261F211}\RP1605\A0259403.exe Severity: Message State: Infected Source: Scan Date: 4/29/2013 Any ideas on this??
  5. I am running MC X2 MR2 SP1. I have been using Mastercam Editor for my nc editor with no problem for 5 yrs. All changed yesterday. I am getting message "ActiveX component can't create object" when I post my program. I click on message (Ok) tab. The editor opens into a blank screen. When I close the editor, I get "Run-time error '429' ActiveX component can't create object". I click on message (Ok) tab, it sends my program(configured to send when closed). Does anyone know what i need to do?? I have changed to diferent editors and they seem to work with no problem I downloaded latest version of "Adobe Flash Player" yesterday. Also downloaded Hughes Net "Status Meter". We just got hooked up on Hughes Net and I am wanting to keep track of my daily usage. These are the only changes i made yesterday. I posted a program early yesterday and didn't have a problem. Thanks Rob
  6. I was wondering if there was software available that could be used for sheet metal fab work. We are having problems with allowing for breaks and folds in sheet metal. We bought a plasma 6 months ago. It is the biggest piece of sh*t as for the software that came with it. We use MC to draw the parts then there software to generate the code for the machine. We would like software that we could draw a 3d image of the part then unfold it. When it was unfolded we could burn straight from that drawing. I don't think MC will do what I am needing. Any and all input welcome. We are using X2 presently.
  7. John, I tried your toolpath using a ball endmill to rough with from the very top. I am using the blue box as a containment boundry. I still get air passes because the tool is cutting per depth cut in the complete containment boundry. I don't know if that last statement makes any sense to you. Your tooltath works good if I rough with 2d countour path down to the top of the other flute then start with restmill from there. But I was wanting to use one tool only from top to bottom. John I will be posting more question on setting up my 4th axis. I am having problems with my machine def and control def on this. We'll save that for another post for now. Skir, I will have to try your toolpath type shortly. I am working on a couple of projects at one time. As a mentioned I am using the blue box for a containment boundry in top plane. Were are talking about creating radius containment boundries?? Just want to make sure we are on the right page. I will work on your toolpath shortly Thanks
  8. I am trying to cut the fluted wheel that is pictured below( click on image for larger view). I am cutting it on a 4th axis on VMC. My problem is what toolpath is best suited to rough all the material out of the fluted without a lot of air passes because the material is to size on the diameter. I have tried some highspeed toolpaths, but I still get lots of air passes. Can someone suggest what toolpath type I can rough with or what setting that I'm not using in highspeed toolpath to direct my rough cuts to only travel were there is material to be machined?? I am running X2 MR2 Thanks Rob
  9. Silly me. I got it fixed. Should have looked before I spouted off. Mod's can delete this post if they wish to. Rob
  10. I have a problem with my dwg files changing when they are imported into MC. I have a customer that sends me dwg files. When I open them in MC X2 it doesn't show changes that he has made to his drawings. But I can open them in V9 and his changes are there. I think I have my setting wrong in my config or settings page that is causing the problem. Do you guys have any idea what I need to change so I don't have to open all of his files in V9 in order to make sure I'm not missing his updated measurements or changes. Thanks
  11. Gunther, Thanks for all your help with this. I have one last problem. When I run the script on a folder. It still has the .ge3 in the file name. Here is an example of what the file name looks like after I do the conversion. Before file name: Robert.ge3 After VBS conversion: Robert.ge3.mc9 I can open the file in MCX after the conversion. But I have to rename the file and erase the .ge3 from the file name. I would hate to have to manually rename all my old files. Do you know what might be causing this? Thanks Robert
  12. Hello Guys, I have never used VB scripts. I need someone to instruct me on how to us this in V9. I found it under settings in X, but can't locate it in V9. Also, how do you guys use this in other applications?
  13. The owner says there should be a way to time the spindle so it does 1/1 ratio with the pitch. He pretty much said I didn't understand how to get the machine and the software on the same page. My machine's minimum rpm is 60. my pitch is 9mm(.354). should my feedrate be 21.24 ipm (60 x .354) to do one revolution of pitch to one revolution of spindle. Boss wants the tool to stay in contact at all time with the part, just like a lathe. I say you can't stay in contact with the part continually like a lathe when you are thread milling. If it can be done without modifying the threading insert. I would like to know how to do the thread mill. I say it can't be done without modifying the threading insert. What say you MC guru's??
  14. I got the post to output I's & J's. Things aren't looking good for me. I did some searching on the net. Here is a interesting post on internal thread milling. One of the guys in the post says it can't be done. I think I'm starting to believe him. Read the post and see what some of you guru's think about this subject. post on thread milling I'm up against a deadline. It looks like we might be going to the manual lathe with these blocks. The parts are square blocks: 3.15x5.511x5.905 Did I mention they were made of 863 bronze. It sucks being me today.
  15. My machine is Mazak with 32B Mazatrol controller. I didn't think about G95. My bar isn't wobbling and the insert fits the threaded rod perfect. It looks like I need to modify my post so it outputs I's & J's. I checked the Linearized Output switch, but still no I's & J's. I am using a basic MPMaster post.
  16. I am trying to thread mill a metric acme(TR60 x 9)internal thread on a mill. I am using a single point lathe threading bar. I have my thread to major diameter, but now that my thread depth is right, my root width is to wide. I think it is to wide because the is not feeding in inch per revolution, like a tap would. What can I do to fix my problem or is there any fix for this.
  17. I will let you know tomorrow. I will be running the program after lunch. It normally runs pretty good. Any suggestions to a better toolpath. I am open to any input. Thanks Again to all the help!!
  18. This is were I put the bag over my head with DumbA$$ written on it. First of all my part wasn't being gouged in the first place. My total depth in the pocket is -.85 deep. I had my depth limits set to -.635 for my roughing tool. Well when I ran the finish pass I didn't have any depth limits set. The tool follows the surface to the .85 deep. (.215 below the rough surface depth). That's were the gouge(supposed gouge) came from. My part just wasn't roughed to depth. When the finish path went to depth, it just appeared to gouge. I never even thought to measure the depth that the roughing tool had cut to. Man I feel like an idiot today. Just glad it was my birthday or I would have been made. Thanks for all of the attention. I kind of feel like a drama queen.
  19. The solid is from Solidworks. I just created surfaces from the solid and used them to drive the toolpath. I got the same gouge. I had another local MC guy to check the toolpath to see what he thought. He saved the solid as a .STL file with .ooo2 resolution on the crosshatch of the stl. He got an alarm from mastercam that the stl wasn't watertight. He thinks it is the solid model. I tried to duplicate his process of saveing as a stl file but didn't get the watertight alarm. This really has me scratching head and tail.
  20. That is a sweet thought Ron. But I don't think that will happen. They aren't spending any money unless they have to
  21. Jay, I wrote a toolpath using Highspeed Finish toolpath Scallop. I copied an pasted the geo. from the parallel toolpath so it would be the same. When I done this I get the gouge to appear in the MC verify. I really need to stay we the parallel type finish on my part. Thanks
  22. I am trying to machine a mold. My tool path looks good when I verify the toolpath in MC. But when I run the G code on the machine. It gouges the part. I have uploaded the file on to the ftp page under:MCX2_Files/MS0594 Oper1 Rob.zip Can someone verify the nc code this program produces to see if produces a gouge. If you need more info. Please let me know. Also, if there is a better way to do this part let me know. I am open to any ideas. It has cost me one piece of material and several hrs of headache and heartache!!!
  23. Jay, I used to up load files quite often on to the ftp site. In the past I would use Filezilla to up load them. I tried using it today but it wouldn't let me up load the file, although I was connect to the site. Is it still ok to use filezilla to upload files. I also tried the drag and drop method as suggested in the insurrection's at the top of the page. When I would try to drop the file on the folder in the ftp site. My computer would automatically try to open the file instead of dropping it on to the ftp site. Don't know what I am doing wrong. But it just doesn't work for me. I might have some setting set wrong on me browser??? Thanks
  24. Can someone help me to put a file on the ftp site. I am using Firefox. When I try to drag and drop the file in the folder that I want it to be in, I get the file trying to open the zip file. I have tried Filezilla with no luck. What am I doing wrong.
