  1. I've peck tapped in my Mini Mill as well nad I've done 1/2-13's and 1/2-20's too in 304... I thread mill all the bigger stuff
  2. Yes it is and thank you ... I need to tweek it a bit, but that's my next little adventure. I've played with a lot of older posts that I have then updated but I need to get in there and learn the MCX ones. It's just some simple stuff. Start of file stuff and tool change things. I did a peck drill this morning and it didn't throw a G83, it possted it out long hand. I'll have to see what's up with that. Thanks again
  3. Done deal...Right clicked on the toolpath and edited the NC file name from there. Rich, The append values tic box was already deselected. I believe the root of my problem was in settings , config, toolpath mgr. under NC files I had MCX file name checked and it should, as Rich pointed out to me, be last op that should be checked. I made that change and all is well now. Thank you once again Gentlemen.
  4. Yes. I was jsut talking with Rich and he was not convinced that was the issue. Being new to X I wasn't sure either but in 9 that would have been the cause. I just didn't know where to change that file name. I'm going to have a couple questiond about tweeking this post to what I want it to do though. I've done a bunch of Ver8 and 9 posts (just simple changes) but I have a suspicion Ver X posts are going to be a little different.
  5. This forum simply ROCKS!!!!!!!!! I have been on the phone with my reseller yesterday and all morning here. Two minuites here and I have the solution. YOu guys are just amazing.
  6. I have X lathe entery and a post for my SL 10 Haas that was kindly provided by a member of this forum. I have a simple program that has a face move, a rough and finish move and a threading move and a groove and part off move. I made this file yesterday and the toolpath names for what I did yesterday is "T.NC" The goove cycles I built today are "cable end.NC" They will not post together because the toolpath are not common. How the HECK do I change that file name so they will post together instead of two programs. I'm just a little shop and I have to deliver these parts today. By the way....I just spent three days in the orientation and production mill class. Great stuff and a great experience. This was the first time I've opened X with a smile on my face. Not so today.
  7. My reseller here in Western Washington is doing training videos as well. He included them in the package I just got. I would imagine that many resellers are doing the same. Jim
  8. Well....I knew it was gonna be different from ver 9.... Just got everything so it'll output usefull code yesterday. Been messin with it fro a total of maybe three hours. I'm really going to have to give this a shot. Lots of nice tool path options that wern't in 9. Jim
  9. Now THAT's what I'm talkin bout!!!!! Thanks ...I'd have been in there for days playin with the post.... Jim
  10. Soooo..... I just got X and have updated a Haas post I have that works well in V9.1 SP2. I ran the update post DLL and that's all fine. I never post seq numbers....Now, X is posting them and no mater what I do I can't seem to get rid of them. I have changed the omitseq$ from Yes$ to no to 0 to 1 pick something..... Is it the "$" ??? Throw me a bone here..... Jim
  11. We've been in business since 1998. Bought a CNC mill in May of last year. We had been doing a lot of spair parts for surgical hand pieces on manual machines. I had a day job as well but had to commute close to 5 hours a day. Well, a couple years ago we were walking down the beach in Hawaii, and my wife told me sh didn't really want me commuting any longer through Seattle Traffic so I thought, Better get busy! Bought the first Haas and haven't looked back. Just bought the SL 10 and it's booked and not even under power yet. Jim
  12. Anybody remember Multax? Ok...Ok....I'm not going to throw gasoline on a fire.... Jim
  13. Oh good..... Mine comes next week... I can't wait!!!
  14. All taken care of and I'm at MR2... Thanks again Jim
  15. Thanks Jim. I figured as much. I'll call them when they open in a bit...
  16. Hmmm....I thought I just responded to this but it isn't here.... Anyway. I was told that the next update is going to be X2 and that I should wait a couple months to get maintenance... I'll call my reseller in an hour or so and get on the program... Thanks all.
  17. I just bought Mastercam and it was delivered yesterday afternoon. I got MR1 SP2... If MR2 has been released, shouldn't I have gotten MR2? Just curious... I was told to wait on the maintance till just before X2 as it would save me some money. But if I need to do maintance now then that's fine... Jim
  18. How Do Josh...I get out there every now and then to eat at the airport diner. Just about right across the street. I'd been wondering what kind of stuff you guys are making out there. Jim
  19. Thank you Sir...I'm just waiting for the UPS guy to get here so I can try em out...
  20. This is going to be a journey I think. I had been using 9.1 for a long time where I worked before getting my shop going. I understand X is nothing like 9. Understatement of the day... But Steve graciously is providing me with 9.1 as well to ease the transition. I'm sure I'm going to have a LOT of questions. I just bought a Haas SL10 with the magazine fed barfeed so I'll most likely have some post questions as well. I understand there is a post CD that helps in understanding how posts are written and structured. I'm going to assume my reseller will have that? Thanks Jim
  21. I'm getting X today!!!!! I have been using a friend to program my two Haas's for about a year now. Just broke down and made the call to Steve Kidd at Cimtech in Seattle yesterday. Mill level 3, solids and lathe is on the way!!!!!!! Big jump for us but it's just the right choice. It's funny as people have just about dropped over when they find out the cost but I tell them how much it costs me to NOT have the software. We do small runs and prototyping of milled and turned parts for commercial, medical and the motorsports markets. Going to be buying 4 more machines in the next 6 months after my building is done. Geting excited... Jim
  22. Either form taps or spirol flute taps...pulls the chips out of the hole Jim
  23. Perfect. Thank you Gents. That has driven me nuts for awhile... Jim
  24. I have a question about how to modify my post processor to not output the "X" component when it tool changes I get M5 G91 G28 Z0.0 G28 X 0.0 Y0.0 What I would like is M5 G91 G28 Z0.0 G28 Y0.0 I have a Haas minimill and with the limited Z height of the tool changer, I don't want the table going to X 0.0 Thanks in advance I certainly realize about asking for a post. I'm not...I'd just like to know where in the post to make my changes. I would think it needs to be changed at the peof and tool change sections but I'm not really up on posts... Thanks again Jim
