  1. Yes, I can clearly see in your example that the two circles are different, but on my system it doesn't work. I also tried regenerating the op even though it doesn't show dirty. Still doesn't work. Here's what I get when I draw (2) 2.0" holes, ArcMultiEdit the first to 2.25, select the op, regen.: ; T ;*** TOOL LIST *** ; TOOL - 01 DIA. - .25 1/4 STRAIGHT BIT ;***************** N100 MOV=72 N110 VFF=1 N120 FCT=.00001 N130 G00 G79 Z(@ZPARKP1) N140 (UAO,1) ;( TOOL - 01 ) N150 M06 T1 N160 M03 S15000 N170 G00 X.875 Y0. Z.125 N350 M05 N360 M30 I also tried rechaining the first hole, regen. No difference. I'll keep playing around with it and looking into my settings.
  2. Roger, Try this please: Draw several circles, 2.0" dia. spaced 2.75 between. Then toolpath the circles, contour toolpath. I'm cutting .125 ABS. The holes are for gages (oil pressure, fuel level, etc.) Then ArcMultEdit the holes to something you can see easily, like 2.25 and see if the toolpath will show up dirty or if you can rechain and get it to cut at 2.25". The holes will resize but I can't get the toolpath to follow it, even if I rechain. That's why I think I must have a setting wrong somewhere. I can get the toolpath to show dirty and regenerate correctly if I analyze entity properties and resize the holes there, but I have to edit the holes one at a time. Thanks for your help.
  3. If I use ArcMultiEdit and change a 2.0" circle that has a toolpath associated with it to 2.050, I'm finding that it still outputs to the NC file as if the circle is the original 2" size. The change doesn't show up as a dirty op in the ops manager either. Re-chaining the circles still cut them to the original size instead of the enlarged size. I analyzed the circles for diameter and they show 2.050, so ArcMultiEdit changed the size but I couldn't get the toolpath to change. I went back and changed them all using offset contour and rechained to get the results I wanted but I'm curious why I couldn't get the ArcMultiEdit feature to allow a toolpath change. I'm sure its a setting somewhere or something else I did wrong, but I can't find it?
  4. Do you have a value set for retract high enough to clear the workpiece? On our 5 ax router, if I use feed plane without a retract or clearance value, our machine will move from home to start of toolpath and gouge the workpiece, but with a retract or clearance value set it will move to the retract or clearance point above and then down into the workpiece. Sorry CQualls, I type slow and didn't notice you already mentioned retract.
  5. Bill, thanks for starting this thread and thanks to everyone for your answers. We started our 5 axis router in mid July and a set up sheet is just one of many things we're working our way through. We use our machine to cut out formed plastic parts and I'm trying to tailor a set up sheet to fit our needs. Right now I both program and run the router, but as the work load increases, I'll shift to programming only and the set up sheet will become much more important. Thanks again for the information! It's given me some good ideas.
  6. Give C.R. Onsrud a look. We are new to 5 axis and when our company was looking for a machine, we looked at Thermwood, Shoda, Northwood, Onsrud, and a couple of others. Our machine was more expensive than a Thermwood, but less than Shoda. We've only had our new machine a few weeks. If I call Onsrud with a question (and believe me I've had a few) I get help immediately.
  7. Terry, Yes, it kept the association. I only have a few files at this point, but no problem opening any of them.
  8. I'm new to Mastercam, so I first installed MR2 side by side with MR1 so I could explore both versions. Earlier this week, I removed MR2, then reinstalled MR2 using the option to let the install program remove MR1. So far no problems, but haven't had much time to work with it since the reinstall.
  9. New to 5 axis routing and Mastercam and found this forum. I'm sure I'll have many questions, but for now just wanted to say hello.
