  1. I am looking into starting to use the highfeed optimization in mastercam, and I was wondering if anyone had some guide lines they like to use for setting the maximum feed rate. So far I'm thinking about setting the minimum feed rate to manufacture specs, and setting the maximum feed rate by 25% more. Any thoughts or advice about this? I would really appreciate it. Thanks
  2. I've been piecing examples from other templates to build my own set up sheet. However there are a couple of things I still want to add like the program name, and part rev and maybe the manual entry line so I can type in some set up info. So how do I know what the data field name is for all that stuff? Is there a list of all the different data field names I can use?
  3. I get that using a hybrid with the same steep and shallow step over works good with a ball, but what would I have to set the angle to for a bull endmill to work. Kinda like a waterline to a horizontal tool path?
  4. It will be on a fairly newer Hurco with plenty of memory.
  5. Does anyone have any setting recommendations for the arc filter tolerances. I have a lot of 3D milling coming up and I want to make sure I have the best settings to achieve a nice smooth finish. Debating on which total tolerance to use and what percentage would be for smoothing.. Thanks
  6. Does anyone know of a way to change the tool list sheet so it doesn't round the cutter diameters and depth?
  7. I heard that they were supposed to revamp the material and tool library with this release... guess not
  8. I had to increase my step over for verifying purposes. I'm roughing out a .400" deep pocket with a 1/4" endmill using the whole flute length without any depth cuts. So my step over is only 7% of the tool diameter. Verify doesn't seem to like that sort of toolpathing, so I guess I'll just play the step over switcheroo game. Just hope I don't forget to change it back someday.
  9. Is it just me, or does 2D dynamic mill verify painfully slow? I'm programming on the bottom of a block so I don't have the luxury of turbo verify. Increasing the moves/step and Move/refresh does little...
  10. I'm using machine simulation on a 4th axis, and I see that it doesn't actually show the 4th axis rotate into position. It just jumps from one angle to another. Is there any way to see the 4th axis rotate so that I can make sure nothing is colliding?
  11. I get "InvalidArgument=Value of '15' is not valid for 'Selectedindex" Parameter name: SelectedIndex" when switching tools
  12. Has there been any progress on this idea?
  13. I would definately use this if it weren't in metric. The size range isn't there even if you convert the values.
  14. When you go into settings, customize, drop down to the X+ category. Then Grab the icons and drag them on to your tool bar. Then you can use them.
  15. No I can't seen to get a screen shot up here. Basically the web page layout is to big, and I can't get it to print in a normal size. I tried it in excel also, however then the pictures had to be rearranged. What do you guys use when printing out these pages for the floor?
  16. HMM, I can't seem to print properly though. The HTML view is different from the print preview view, and I can't seem to get it to scale down to fit.
  17. Thank you, I got it to work thru customization like you said, and it was just what I was looking for.
  18. When I install X+ and turn it on in my tool bar all I get is a small box with a red x on it to close it. Did anyone else have that problem?
  19. I am having the same problem with uploading files to the ftp server. how did you get it to work?
  20. I can't seem to upload my file to the ftp server. When I try to drag and drop it keeps asking me if I want to save or open the file.
  21. Hello all, I am programming a part for a lathe with live tooling. The part has a profile on the face, and then a 45 degree chamfer on the bottom of the profile. I'm using the C-axis face contour to do the profile. I then was attempting to copy that toolpath, and use the depth cut with tapered walls option to mill the 45 degree chamfer on the bottom of the profile. However it doesn't appear to be working. It just ignores the parameters, and back plots as if it were cutting straight. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem with this function. Thanks much
  22. I'm running MX2 MR1 and it seems like no matter what I put for my total tolerance the surfaces don't appear to be smooth. I'm using a pocket rough toolpath and a constant scallop toolpath for finishing. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
  23. I have to put in some "twisted" looking keyways in a part using the rotary axis. The part came as a solid model. Is using a multi-fourth axis toolpath my only option? I don't think my company bought the multiaxis feature. They bought a mill level 3 seat. All the examples I've seen was wraping 2d geometry (which I don't have)around a cylinder. Is there anything I'm missing?
