  1. To have the post output the proper angle, you need to keep the WCS at the center of your tombstone, and only change the tool plane to define the different side you are machining. The post will look at the angle difference between the WCS and the toolplane to see if it needs to rotate your B axis. If both planes are the same it will always stay at B0. HTH
  2. Hi all, I'm about to modify a post for a Milltronics Centurion 7 Lathe from a Fanuc post. Is there anything I should be aware of like special codes or cycles that are differents from the Fanuc basic output? Any specific headers, or file extensions to use? Toolchange sequences anything specific? Thanks for all and any help you can provide.
  3. You might want to play with the options in the following windows: settings/configurations/toolpath and look at the regen file section, make sure you don't keep anything and maybe it will get you to what you want. HTH
  4. go into settings/configuration down to start/exit page and look for the editor scrolling menu. Choose the one you want or add it up in the list by using the browse choice. HTH
  5. It is based on the color you use for your window's title bar in Windows. Do the test, right click on your desktop/properties inside the appearance tab change the color scheme and see if it changes the color of the selected boxes. HTH
  6. Probably just update the parameter table into the setup sheet. Maybe open the *.set file and look for the parameter that have changed between X2 and X3. You can find those into the first thread of the forum page. Or you can always send this request to your Mastercam reseller. Based on your location that would be CAP Technologies. www.captechnologies.qc.ca
  7. Is it a custom setup sheet you have imported from X2, or is it the default one from X3?
  8. Look for the following switches: --------------------------------------------------- use_pitch : 0 #0 = Use feed for tapping, 1 = Use pitch for tapping rigid_tap : 0 #0 = Floating tap output, 1 = Rigid tap output (suppress spindle output and output M29) ---------------------------------------------------
  9. FYI, This driver look likes the best to use to work around the problem regarding the Advanced multiaxis and Windows XP SP3 : http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_162.65.html http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp64_162.65.html They recommend to use as your video card global settings the following global preset: Dassault systemes Solidworks HTH
  10. try by the control definition manager and change the first misc value not the third one.
  11. or an easier way just go in Mastercam/settings/machine definition manager, from there into control definition manager and into misc int/real values. Change the default value from there to 1 and it should do the trick.
  12. the place you changed it was only a flag to initialize the variable. Either you put the 1 in the misc value from the operation in Mastercam or do the following: find this post block: pmiscint$ and in it just put the # before the line: home_type = mi1$ should look like this: pmiscint$ if sub_level$ <= zero, absinc$ = mi2$ ref_ret = mi3$ #home_type = mi1$
  13. Look in the misc value of your operation the misc integer 1 refers to the home reference point. If you always want it to be user define you can change the condition in the post block pmiscint$, look for the home_type variable.
  14. Have you looked at your retract value or maybe your clearance value. That might be this. Probably more the retract. look if your in incremental or in absolute in your operation.
  15. In the lead-in/out windows just check the plunge after first move box and the retract before last move box. That should do the trick. HTH
  16. hi cobra, the only thing you need to do is to copy the machine and control files from your c:/mcamx.../cnc_machines folder to your new installation folder something like c:/mcamx2_mr2/cnc_machines.é Then open Mastercam and go in settings/run user application and select updatepost.dll. From that point just follow the steps, select what type of post it is, from wich version you're updating and which post you want to update. You will have to do this for all you post. the first time you will select your machine from the machine type menu it will tell you something like this machine definition was created for an older version would you like to update it, just say yes and everything should be working fine from there. hth
  17. The WCS define the coordinate system tou are currently working with. This means that the coordinates you see in the gcode refers to the origin of your wcs, it's your zero part or the point from which every movement refers to.
  18. I don't think that the *.ipt file will work with the ATP. Mainly because it works best with level. So unless you can have for exemple all your holes .25dia on a specific level and your .5dia holes on a different level for the ATP to recognize the different strategie to apply. The only 3d software that really does it well is solid edges. Otherwise, the ATP works fine with DXF and dwg file. Cutexpert for solidworks also create what we need for the ATP. The important thing is to have every geometrie that will have the same operation parameters on the same level. Then you set up a strategie in the ATP to define what operation will be done on wich level and with what parameters. When it is well define it works really well

  20. In the 5axmsurf, the 'msurf' is for multisurfaces.
  21. It almost worked, I mean the config followed but not the units. It always keep the units of the default configuration.
