When printing in 2017, why do you have to select fit/center screen every single time?
Is there a way to have MC hit that button for you every time you go to print?
Why would it not default to fit/center?..........
Has there been a first update?
I've had to go back to X7 for my difficult or large files
Why is it so hard for CNC not to just put an update every month or so with
what ever amount of bug fixes they have fixed in that time?
For instance, in X7-6-5-4
after an hour or so of importing tools, ops and making tools from scratch
I'll import a tool and hit properties and it wont be in the list on the tool page.
S/C/OPEN fixes it an now i can see the tool to edit it.
Save/Close/Open... its the long time fix for many, many Mastercam cache memory bogs.
Someday they will figure out why MC cant manage the cache to clear properly, while mastercam
is open and in use.
Just restart Mastercam every hour or so just like every other version, where
the cache memory gets bogged down and things slow, stop working and
many other weird behaviors.
After a restart it seems to run seemless for me.
By the time the last update they eventually release for 2017, like all the others,
it will clear up 80% of the issues.
No crashes today. Had it open all day.
Did a ton of complex 3-d paths and a simple flowline, (45deg surface 4"x 11/2"
.01 stepdown with a 15 deg, 3/8"Ø bullmill 0.0625 rad., also no crash.
Good morning
when you rotate in verify it also rotates the geometry on the MC screen
and vise versa.
Is there any way to turn off this new behavior.
I upgraded from X7 to 2017, so I don't know if this was in X8 and X9.
Thanks in advance
rick
If you really want to be efficient, ignore the flats since you are using a ball nose.
use horizontal path using a 1/2 bullmill 0.03125 rad for the flats first
.05 stock to leave seems quite large, I use .015 on P20 steel and H13
.
.
I did some quick basic changes and got this
Plus go to your transitions page and change 'skip pockets smaller than' from 0.5 to .01
You seem to be using all the defaults. There are so many things I would change pending the
material you are cutting
but it looks like you were just testing what the path can do.
.
.
or put out updates sooner, than spending months fixing tons of stuff in one update
maybe fix a half dozen, 'easy' bugs and send an update, and so on....and so on.....
Ho do I get rid of this square that shows the flat x/y plane
It prints as a solid black square on my setup sheets when i create on on a level
Could it be a Verisurf feature?
.
.
thanks in advance
Rick
Ron that is great for one offs or production parts.
(I love easy fixes like the ones you describe)
but i have to keep my mold designs 'up to date' in which ever software
i create them in.
i get complex engineering changes that are not just to move a hole/s.
most often my changes affect all the mold component or cause a total
recut of a mold component
i will let my CNC shop know when they finally move from X7
