  1. We bought a tool probe for our new Cincinnati. This is my first opportunity to use one. I’ve been reading the machine manual trying to come up with the most efficient way the use this option. As of now we have only used the probe in MDI calling up the macros. I see that I also can write a macro to automatically touch tools if there is a nominal tool offset values loaded in the tool registers before running the cycles. Those of you that have the luxury of a tool probe, what ways do you implement it? The probe is a Renishaw TS -27 & my machine has a Fanuc 18I control
  2. I've cut nylon many times. Crank it up. A couple of thing to watch for are: If holding it in a vise don't over tighten. Tapping can be a pain. Chips get wrapped around the tap. I found that a standard gun tap works better than a spiral.
  3. Got it!!! Ya'll saved me again! Thanks a bunch
  4. Why when I make a simple change in MPMASTER post and save it under a different name, do I not have all the drill cycles(G83,G84,ETC.) in the operation manager when I call up new post???
  5. #if cc_pos, tloffno This did the trick. Thanks
  6. Did that, its coming from the the cutter comp section. But when I deleted where I thought it was coming from, I got an error.
  7. My cinci has the option of not need "G43" "H" or "D". I was able get rid of the G43 & H. But I'm having a problem getting rid of the "D". Any suggestions? I'm using MPMASTER.
  8. "Does your design dept. have Mech. Desktop2004?" Yes I also have MDT 2004 and inventor loaded on my PC.
  9. I went thru the same problems your having. Once you have all you updates etc. everything will work fine with out using another format. Just some fine tuning. Our design dept. is using only Mech. Desktop and Inventor so I know what your going throught. Do you have inventor 8 on your system? If so you need to open It just one time after you install it. If not MC converter won't work. Good luck and be patient.
  10. quote: Just set the "Seq Start" variable in the first parameter page to 0 for no line numbers or to whatever you first line is to have line numbers This did it!! What happened is my old mill had to have the first sequence number set as "0" or it wouldn't receive the program. So I had my operation manager parameter defaulting to seq start "0". Thanks for the help!!!
  11. yes... I even posted out the origin MPMASTER and still didn't get any sequence numbers. Gotta be something simple... its driving me nuts (not that its a far ride).
  12. omitseq: no seqmax:9999 Could it be something in my config. setting?? I'm setting up a post for a new machine. I'm using mpmaster post I downloaded from here. I made very few changes so far.
  13. How do I get my post to output sequence numbers? omit sequence is set to "no". Using mpmaster Probably something simple I'm missing!
  14. I convert Mech. Desktop every day. No problems. Check your mask setting.
  15. hide-mask-blank-visible These 4 methods of turning of levels or entities are similar but have different characteristics. I for some reason(stupidity) can't keep them straight. What is the best situation for each?
  16. quote: I think Zippo's got the $$ though We are doing pretty good, but they have me limited on a tooling budget for this machine. You know those penny pinching bean counters.
  17. We are getting a new machine that will allow me rigid tap. The dealer for the machine said that I don't need to purchase a tap holder. All I need is some tap collets. I have a some DA200 and TG100 collet holders. I've searched for tap collets to use in either of these holders, but haven't found any. Does such a collet exist? I did a search on this topic but there seemed to be some confusion on rigid tap holding methods.
  18. quote: We use System 3R tooling extensively. It is expensive but you cannot build it yourself to the same accuracy/quality for less. +1 I've looked for a less expensive builder of these types of fixtures but have yet to find a replacement.
  19. Looks like I need to go shopping. Thank you, everyone!
  20. I like the way 3 fluted cutters cut but the machine operators complain about not being able to mic the diameter. I tell them not worry about it that I'll take care of it with my program but they still feel the need to check size.
  21. So I need to buy a USB base PCMCIA read. Plug it into my PC. Get a compact flash pcmcia card. Save my NC programs to the card. Load card into my machine and run. So I'm saving the hassle(interference etc) you have sometimes with rs232, but I'm gaining the pain of hand carrying the card back and forth from my PC to the machine.
  22. The new mill we ordered has a PCMCIA interface. What do I need at my PC to write to one of these cards? Also When I set up my communication from my PC to the machine should I just use PCMCIA or rs232 or both??
  23. quote: This no doubt is a used machine Nope, its brand new. They gave me a choice Siemens A2100 or a GE Fanuc 18i-M. see for yourself; http://www.cincinnati-machine.com/products/vert_set.htm
  24. We recently ordered a Cincinnati Arrow2 VMC750 with a fanuc18I control. My questions is....for a post should I use Mc's fanuc post and tweak it or call my dealer or maybe one of you kind, generous, intelligent (kiss kiss)people already have a post and are willing to share.
  25. Darn! Thought that someone may have found a way. I have some new people using MC here. I'm trying to make file convesion as simple as possible.
