  1. Everytime anyone mentioned FreeBSD I shudder .. not because it's a bad system, it's great, but I have terrible memories of long nights developing mouse drivers
  2. HOLY - I'm glad I got out of your neck of the woods before that hit, or I would have been camped out in your offices for awhile.
  3. The shirts DID go out - we were waiting to see if we could get a couple new sizes in, but alas if they're not there by the end of this week I'll tan UPS' hide
  4. the Advanced Multiaxis toolpaths have a "use ramp" under the roughing/depth cuts area
  5. hahaha yeah I just saw that file - this is going to be at a school so I don't know how well it'll fly
  6. Foam cutting for the most part from solid block. May be taking some video, or I'll get pictures at the very least. It'll be fun. Looking for mostly larger partss, 2-3 feet etc.
  7. Adjust your depths cut depth to something you would normally use and it may look better, as well you may want to take off "contact tool engagement" just to see your "standard" toolpath, but I would suggest keeping it on in the long run when you want to machine. As of the initial release, FBM will be limited in functionality for many people, however I've talked to a number of people who are eager to start trying it for their work, and as with every feature it's going to get better with time, so I'm really looking forward to advanced functionality in it
  8. Phil, quit making such a good case for yourself htm01: I don't think I received your address in e-mail for where to send this. I'll give it a another day, and then who knows!
  9. #1 thing to check with swarf and surfaces is your surface normals. Edit > Change Normal - and mouse over the surfaces you're compensating for your swarf. Make sure your normal lines are all coinciding in direction (in the direction you want), right away if there are issues here they'll drastically affect the toolpath
  10. quote: I think everyone with more than 9170 posts should get a sweatshirt. Oh, and a jacket at 10,000. [Wink] Thad That would be great - Maybe we can throw up some more ads on here specifically for jacket revenue, haha. I don't know if I'm joking or not.
  11. We were thinking about how to decide who gets shirts, post counts etc. Figured this would be fun, and random, and give a good cross section
  12. Hahahaha, that was great. Thanks everyone! If you can e-mail me the address you would like to receive the shirts at, I can get those out to you [email protected] Just to Clarify, that was KTechEngines Murray Mold & Die htm01 Tim Pruett Terry Houseknecht from Stork Inc.
  13. First 5 people to post their t-shirt size in here who aren't resellers get a mastercam shirt from In-House Solutions
  14. try re-registering the dll? start> run > "C:>regsvr32 C:windowssystem32ntvdm64.dll"
  15. Make sure if it's a part already in inch that it scales it to metric when you open it, as for your tool library: http://www.emastercam.com/cgi-bin/ultimate...t=029996#000001
  16. it can be a bit challenging to set up if your machine isn't already configured. you shouldn't need solids for it, however if you're making your own machine you will need a way to create STL files, or manipulate a solid model of a machine to have it in the correct orientation
  17. It takes a little getting used to, but the functionality for the *most* part is the same. New icons, menus/interface customization options. I didn't like it at first but now I love it.
  18. did it say incorrect tool type or tool geometry? Check to make sure your "Overall" tool length encompasses both the flute length and the shoulder If there's an X in the tool file profile, there is an incorrect parameter (also if you're for some reason creating tools in metric, those values will be quite small, and the tool would appear missing)
  19. I had this same problem, however I was getting processing issues on everything, not just mastercam. Is your computer accessing the hardrive for long periods of time? Defragging, deep hardware scans etc. showed no problems, and I was just about ready to get a new hard drive before I backed up, reinstalled windows and everything was fine. I guess just some core was corrupt in sectors and while looked fine, had trouble initializing some read/write
  20. It may be that KMT may move your system to output code as it comes out of Robotmaster, although tweaking things like feedrate, and how you locate your part. Subprograms like the cutout, slot, etc. will likely disappear as this is handled by output from geometry in robotmaster. I'm on here daily and can try to help out any way I can.
  21. Ok - I can see what's going on in your program and it's not too difficult to incorporate into the post (once you've done it a couple times.) I can explain the output from robotmaster if it's not too obvious - are you familiar at all with customizing mastercam posts? I see you're doing some part locating which then updates your userframe accordingly, and then some things like imperial values and tool changes - this will all definitely be do-able in the post. It may take you awhile yourself, so you may want to look for the post coming from KMT
  22. Eric - could you post code as you would by hand, or if you're not comfortable with that, you can always e-mail me at [email protected] is the code just give you errors on the control right now?
  23. it should just go through - but try login: mastercam pass: swiss
