But yeah, post up the high cut settings or you could add them into the program also

Can the Nak do real time collision avoidance in all machine modes James? ( not knocking it, just curious as I've used Mazaks attempt and CAS on the okuma's but never used the Nakamura software)
This means the post has been sent to Okuma Japan and they verified the code that it outputs to be correct for the Okuma machine that the post is made for.
Yes, mastercam will give you G-code from an iges file. There are a few inbetween steps though to get it. You have to select the tools, geometry, toolpath type, etc. to tell it what to do
I did some with about .0003-4 feed using a Jabro endmill a while back and had good success. The Harvey tools wouldn't hold up for even half the time the Jabro's did
I agree with you 100%! That is almost word for word what I told him, but he still thought maybe I could get him something. I figured I would ask here before I go back just on the off chance someone's got something. This is a lathe BTW
I have a customer who is asking me for a chart with a rough guideline of tailstock pressure based on the part size. This is not for face driving work, it is barstock in a 3 jaw. I was looking and haven't really found anything. He said he knew it would only be a rough guideline, but it would be nice to have a decent starting point.
Do any of you know of any decent charts like this?
Work holding isn't a great thing to cheap out on for a new machine. For the lower cost route I would do the Royal Accu-length, they aren't as much as the ATS quick change but work great. The dead length style makes 2nd ops and transfers much easier.
I would look at one of the Bayo T-ream reamers from ISCAR. I am not be convinced that a 6in flute would be the way to go. It would be able to walk just as much as a regular one at those lengths.
