Ok, anyone know how I can take a flat pattern of a slot and wrap it around a cylinder for a full four axis cut? I can only get XZC moves instead of XYZC. I dont have a model with the right geometry or I would just do a swarf cut on it. I tried wrapping the original flat pattern for the top and scaling down the flat pattern in Y and wrapping that for the bottom of the cut, but at that point they are broke up into segments and I cant use them for the swarf or get a good surface off it to use.
It's only a minor problem when going between BigPlus and non BigPlus tools in cycle. If you are using 100% one or the other, you have no worrys at all.
I've made some crazy tight tol. parts on old wore out machines BECAUSE I HAD NO CHOICE! I can make good parts on a knee mill. I can make good parts better/faster on a good CNC.
I always love it when someone says "Yeah, well my Haas has just as much speed and power as :inserthighendbuilderhere:, and is only $73k.
