  1. or this? http://www.internaltool.com/products/product_detail.php?series=90
  2. like this? [/url] http://www.internalt...l.php?series=81
  3. ?? wouldn't that be called a chamfer mill?? post a image of the part detail.
  4. does your post output a G50 S#### (max spindle speed) prior to the G96 or G97? Our LB15 and Cadet both OSP5020L controls require the G50 line before G96 or G97. Does you post have "pspindle" called out before the "prpm"? if not add it to the line above.
  5. Post something out from v9, then open same job in x5 and post with mpfan or better mpmaster from inhouse. compare the two files. That will give you an idea of where you need to go with it. Post some code that you know your machine will read so others can help point you in the right direction
  6. You can use the toolpath editor. Add points and change speed or feed. Some machines might have a slight pause leaving witness lines.
  7. I would go with Harvey tool #43931 and shank relieve it an extra 0.1" to get the depth needed. Hope this helps http://www.harveytool.com/products/product_detail.php?product_id=26400&keyword=43931
  8. good to hear it is just an isolated instance and not a X5 issue.
  9. Don't xxxx off the gf or the open shop situation changes. At least get a book or two from inhouse they have the X3 books on clearance for half off. http://www.emastercam.com/board/index.php?app=nexus&module=payments&cat=62
  10. 9.1? or are you using X4, X5? I don't believe V9 had debugger like X and above. go to "MCAMX Control Panel Applet" found in start menu or control panel. Select post support, enable post debugger. Now when you go to post code like normal you will see a little red bug in lower left corner. select that rather than post button. This will launch the debugger. You may want to select only a few ops to post out the more operations the longer it will take. once debugger is up and running select "run" (the play icon). this will get you started. you may need to sort your windows to see them better.
  11. have you tried using the debugger to pinpoint the post code responsible for the output of each index. I always find this to be a huge help tracking post issues.
  12. We use Predator and it works great. Never had any problems.
  13. Sorry that looks like a mill operation after turning od with the lathe. With out Y axis I don't see it happening without taper on the walls of the rib. you could rough it out on the lathe but then you would have to time it on the mill. would be easiest to turn then mill separate. You may also want to look at the radius at the bottom as well. That might be difficult without transferring the same radius to the rib. Not saying it can't be done but bringing in multiple tools for something like that might be overkill.
  14. also available in ftp site ftp://mastercam-cadcam.com/Mastercam_forum/Setup_Sheets/
  15. What version? It looks like this could be a good part for the new hybrid opti rough. also what material is it?
  16. If it is chained properly, have you checked you lead in? adjust contour, extend/shorten? Was the Stock recognition (adjust Stock) changed? or is it "use stock for outer boundary"? Just a few thing to check. What version are you using? looks like V9
  17. I went to the X5 rollout the other day and Rizzo explained there is a deferance between the DVD and web download. If you installed from the DVD you should not have any problems (select solid, right click on color manager, select color, and entire solid body will change) I was, and still am, using the web download. So it does not quite work like that. If you have the DVD and installed from web. re-install using DVD. hope this helps.
  18. We already have several 10" lathes and NEED BIGGER. So in this case 10" would not be better. As for the Y-axis, this is the exact problem we are running into. Unfortunately it is not up to me. I have already made this comment. We are looking into MacTurn 550 this machine looks promising. I will talk it over with the owner and GM. Thanks for the guidance.
  19. I could not find specs on okums website for LT300MY? Is this an older machine? Will look into the 550W. I'm not sure if they will go for a MACTURN though. The operators here are pretty old school and the one getting this new machine WILL NOT touch a computer to program. He only uses canned cycles and fat-fingers everybit of it.
  20. We are in the market for a new lathe. Our criteria is: 12-15" Chuck Dual turrets Live tool with Y-axis on main We have looked at Mori and nakamura. From what we find they do not offer anything with all three options in this size. Any suggestions?
  21. Did the update utility change the file extension on all three files associated?
  22. try using the update folder... utility under file menu. Then you can update them one by one if needed. Besure to check after updateing that the machine def links to control and control to post. That should work for you.
  23. You should not be using the same post for X4 and X5. You need to run the X4 post through the update utility ( File / Update Folder...). This will create a copy of the X4 post and update it to work with X5 update that post to use the new file extensions. Have you already done this?
