I agree with the 1" Subplate. You can mill a keyway down the length and put keys on your mill vices for quick setups and the flexibility to locate them anywhere on the table.

On the graphite if you are using a few standard tools, you may want to also consider diamond coated endmills. A bit pricy but they out last uncoated carbide by a mile. Then as Ron says you can fly with normal depths and high speeds with little concern for tool wear. I have a couple different sizes that I try to use when I can for electrode work.

mab, Just for the record, Cadkey (now Keycreator) does not generate .cdl files anymore. Their customization / macro language is now a spin off called .kxl. Generally speaking it is an obsolete format. As a CK user, I always used Iges going from CK to MC and back. CAM
