Does anyone know of an archive of modeled up 40 or 50 taper holders. Preferebly Kennametal. Or...is there a way to kick out solids files of the holder models that are in the mcam library?
For anyone following this problem of mine...it looks like a 3D Finish Blend is the way to go. I suspect that I'll be using this approach pretty regularly for future mold detail work.
Gave me exactly the toolpath that i was hoping for. ...
Really? That would eliminate the best resource for information, communication, etc at just about every decent place ive worked. Sorry to hear that Leon.
Yes I have. I really think that my problem is my lack of experience with Optirough and dynamic optirest. I just need some tips because I cant explain why I'm getting the results that I am. Like little patches of toolpath here and there...nothing that makes sense. The real bitch is how many times I've waited 20 minutes for it to crunch the toolpath and all i get is xxxx.
Any help is much appreciated, Again....I'm trying to understand optirough and its use in molds. I need to clean the rest of these faces with a .046 ballnose.

I'm trying to clean out corners of a mold thats a fan blade, with a .046" ball em. Everything I've tried..mostly optirough..just give me results that I cant explain. I dont know how the settings influence the resulting toolpath. I've got it finished otherwise.
Can someone please take a look at this? IGES file attached.
Thanks in advance,

It solves my problem with when I delete something and get the warning that its associated with a solid, toolpath, or plane....I have no idea which of the three it is. If its associated with a toolpath, I'd rather not delete it versus if its a solid or plane as much.
Neither approach is better than the other as i see it...just another tool.
I thought that it was CM. I wish that it was. It would be nice when the error that says the entity is associated with just this or that but tells me exactly where it is...which toolpath, solid, coordinate system..whatever.
