  2. the trouble with the holder.mc9 file definition is in English units,so for metric users please do not save it as metric or else your holder will be monstrous!and you need to adjust the dia. here and save the file in ENGLISH!Then only will it appear to be the correct size when you backplot or verify.please don't use the parameters in the tool definition,it won't work!adjust the dia. in the holder.mc9 file!
  3. you can stop the metacut from appearing in your operation manager by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the processes tab,end MCU2cam.exe,this should also clear away the verbose comments from MCU when you post procees your nc file
  4. it did show a holder but a very big one,we are using metric!

  7. but i am milling copper electrodes!but i found out this streaking of lines almost always occurs in surface parrallel or blend toolpathing
  8. try break splines into half, then modify convert into arcs,if it doesn't convert, break it into half again until all your splines are converted.although it will be better then modify break splines to arcs, where you tend to have many small arcs.
  9. i found out that toolpath parrallel or project blend tends to produce sratched marks caused by cutter or slight dig in on the surfaces, although my tolerance was 0.01mm.can any member give any constructive ideas regarding this?
  10. the show toolholder always gives very big dimensions, esp in metric!even though after entering the tool holder parameters!
  11. thanks for the reply DAVIDB
  12. what i mean is,whenever we changed the entities to a new level,i would liked the parent blanked surfaces to follow to the blanked level also.
  13. can anybody know how i can keep the relevant blanked entities eg parent surfaces to the same levels as the associated entities of the visible unblanked entities?other unassociated blanked entities to be deleted off.
  14. kwolf, but ug can,it just says the toolpath produced is not accurate!
  15. i just did a copper electrode with a sharp corner radius joined together in 3d contour.i tried a parallel surface toolpath but i couldn't apply a negative stock for spark gap.i wonder anybody tried other methods.i tried reducing cutter diameter to compensate for spark gap and lower z offsets to compensate for spark gaps but found mismatch with previously cut profile using ball nose cutter which couldn't cut a sharp 3d profile.i wonder could anybody help me out?thanks
  16. anybody in this forum knows how to trim a spline to a line?it's quite frustrating not knowing how to trim it!thanks in advance!
  17. if you think you can do simple things with cadds then go ahead,no need to brag about it.mastercam is different nad if you are trying to condemn mastercam please leave!
  18. you gotta to make the tolerance quite tight eg 0.005 mm or else there will be a lot of lines along the cut direction.no point using filter
  19. geographically Singapore is an island in South east asia.it's a city state.it's at the tip of peninsula malaysia!it does have a large number of immigrant chinese who came to that part of the world during the 19th to 20th century.please get your facts right before bashing us!
