  1. i digitize with an older model faro arm, on a dos based pc using cadkey 7 and reveng. i convert all my files to iges and put them on a floppy to bring to my mastercam machine. i have never had any problems.the files are on the harddrive of the older computer after they are converted. i have to copy all my code to take out into the plant on floppies. still no problems in 10 years.
  2. I turned 53 back on the 22nd....Katie still won't hook me up with her mom.....
  3. Michael, Get the CD from your reseller, and it should fix your problems.
  4. Right you are old wise one, but geometry is such a general term in the CAD world. Some information on the desired end product would be helpful. George teh humble student
  5. I may be wrong, but wasn't the curves that you swept to create the surface "goemetry" ? And then the surface that you created is also Geometry. Are you wanting to project a part onto the surface for machining?
  6. Kathy, I think if I were to comment, it would have something to do with withdrawing everyone, and maybe something about turning sand into glass......if I were to comment....
  7. not to sound remedial, but you do know that you will need a post processor for the machine you plan to operate.......
  8. thanks George. The Wisc. facility is not using Mastercam. I think they still use Autocad.
  9. I have been a Mastercam user now since at least ver5. I think our first seat was bought from Bruce King, then we went to Danny Harris, and finally with Jimmy Wakeford at BarefootCNC. I was at Warvel for 12 years until I got laid off back in Feb. That lasted only 1 week, until I was hired here at Sterling & Adams. The day after I started working, they announced that Leggett&Platt was closing this shop on April 19th. So anyway, in case they decide to let me go before that, I wanted to have a chance to say THANK YOU !! to everyone in the forum. I do not have that many post, but be assured that I have read thousands. This forum gives us a chance to get the questions answered that we are too shy to ask. I have also learned that no question is dumb, and if asked properly, will get honest and concise answers. Hopefully, I will be back in a Mastercam shop soon, and can rejoin all you guys. So, just in case I do not get the chance later, Thanks again for all the support. George
