My general manager wants me to look into going to camworks because it is integrated into solidworks and will communicate with each other. The other programmer here mentioned to me about mastercam in solidworks and was wondering if we should look into that. The general manager wants one software that will do every department and talk to design also. We have been using Mastercam for many years and would love if Mastercam stand alone would talk to design. I also use Featurecam and that software will tell if a model that I brought in has changed. Just trying to gather information from real professionals(all of us programmers) not salesman.
I want to use X+ again but having problems with it. I used it with X6 and loved it. When I moved to newer versions of Mastercam I can not use the same setup sheet I was using. Is there a way to update the setup sheet you use to the new version X+? I miss using X+.
I have a problem with my space pilot pro. I have a new computer at work and connected my space pilot to it and also downloaded the latest drivers. The space ball stops working after a few minutes and I have to reboot my computer to get it working again. I tried plugging it into another USB port and that does not work. Anyone else having this problem?
I have a space pilot pro and it stops working and I have to restart my computer to get it back working again. Is this a driver problem. I just got a new computer and the IT guy installed the driver from online. I wonder if the driver loaded wrong. Any suggestions?
I have a problem going on with Mastercam and I know that is probably a setting. Every time that I make an adjustment to the cutter Mastercam changes the step overs and step downs. Is there a way to lock in the numbers you put in so it will not change? This is only happening with the optirough tool paths.
We are also having a problem with 2017 with Mastercam randomly putting in a 0 for the tool height.
I can not get the edit projection to work on my tool library. It works just fine with the libraries that come with mastercam but not mine. I know I have something wrong but I can not figure it out. I have a whole library allready set and do not want to do it again. I love how the edit projection works.
I made a dynamic opirough this morningwith Mastercam 2017 and I do not like the results. It only wants to use tricoidal toolpath only. On X9 with the same toolpath the toolpath does a contour path around the part until it needs to use tricoidal toolpath. Is this a bug in 2017?
Let's say I drill a hole 2 inches deep and I want the hole to be 3 inches deep. I want to have mastercam go into the hole 1.750 deep and then start pecking. Is mastercam able to do that?
