  1. On ramp I do have the make pass at final depth checked, but it does not give a flat bottom. You have to make it so the ramp depth per rotation can divide evenly in the distance from the top of stock to the final depth. That is the only way it gives you a flat bottom with ramp. I hope I have been doing something wrong for all this time. I feel stupid asking a question on something as easy as a contour toolpath. I am also using wear for my cutter comp. It is the simple little things that give you a headache sometimes.
  2. I have been programming holes with ramp toolpath for a long time now and have been trying helix bore lately. I am having a problem with cutter comp. with helix bore. I have to bring the size in by reposting. I like helix bore because it gives you a flat bottom, ramp has to even to give a flat bottom. I do not like to have to calculate the ramp to make it give a flat bottom. Does anyone know why I am having a problem with cutter comp on helix bore?
  3. It was the miscellaneous integers. I ran the program on a machine that using them and than I had to run it on a machine that I don't. I got bit on that one. Thank you for your help.
  4. I am posting a left and right of some parts that I am running and it is posting out different code on each program. The first program puts out the code perfect. The second code for the right side of the part is putting G30. At the end of all my code I have a G91 G28 Z0. One of the code is putting out G91 G30 Z0. Can anyone tell me how this could happen?
  5. When I make 2D high speed tool path the model flips up to a front view and when it is done back plotting it moves back to the original view. It did not do this before and know it does it all the time. Is there something I might have changed?
  6. I have a program in X3 and I want to change the dia. of the tool and it will not let me. I keeps giving me a error. The Warning says: Tool diameter and corner radius do not match values stored in operation(edit operation parameters and reselect tool). This is driving me crazy. Does anyone know what to do.
  7. I have been using x2 for a while now and it always runs great. I just had a new computer installed for my operator and MasterCam keeps shutting down every time he regens. I was wondering if there is settings that cause this or is it something else.
  8. Thanks alot. The tool library has been bothering me for a while. I have been so busy that I could not get to it and figure it out. I appreciate it.
  9. I got the computers to look at the same files. Now I have one more question. How do you change where it looks for the tool library?
  10. I am trying to get my computer setup so it will read my operation defaults from the server. I go and change the config to all the right paths and when I restart X3 it does not read the right path. It keeps wanting to go back to the hard drive which it defaults to when you load MasterCam on your computer. Any help would be great.
  11. I would like to have your opinions on Mastercam vs Unigraphics. My shop is having me look into learning unigraphics for manufacturing. I would like to get some input from you guys if I could.
  12. I have posted it in both X2 and X3 and the code is right on both. It is a graphical error, but when you are programming you do not want to have graphical errors. I will have to decide if it is graphics or not. That is scary when you are cutting on very expensive parts. Can some body do a quick peel mill tool path on X3 and see if it happens to you. We have to know if it is a bug. Just see if the depth shows correctly or not.
  13. On peel mill there is no option for tip comp. That is what I thought it was when I first saw that. I program the same tool path in x2 and it works fine. It looks like a bug in X3 or something. When I watch the Z value during back plot it shows right, but when I watch it on the screen it shows to deep.
  14. I have been using peel mill since X2 and now in X3 it is acting funny. I program it to a certain depth and in back plot it shows it going deeper then was programmed. Does anyone know how to fix this?
  15. I have X+ and got it working with the excell format that I like. The only thing that I need now is to work on the output of tools and that is my question. If I have for an example tool #1 has four operations in the operation manager X+ will output 4 #1 tools. I would like it to only output 1.
  16. I created a assembly in SolidWorks and want to create a exploded view. I created the exploded view and now I want to dimension it. It allows me to dimension it just fine but when I try to print it, it will not print the dimensions. Does anyone have any ideas?
  17. I use parisolid everyday but I want to import for solidworks directly so I can shutoff sections for programming. I have solidworks 2006 on my computer, do I have to have 2008 on my computer to read 2008.
  18. I was wondering what version solidworks X3 works with best.
  19. I am having the same problem as Bruce and can not figure out what is wrong. I am getting the same messege: This machine does not have any valid axis combinations defined and cannot be used in a toolpath group. I went on mastercam's website and there is nothing to help. I came into work today to get things done and everything is messed up. I will have to call my deller tomarrow. This was a waste of a day.
  20. I keep getting a warning that mastercam can not find a five axis control and can not find out way. It says: Machine Definition File C:mcamxCNC_MACHINESMILL 5-axis table-head vertical.MMD assignedto group"Machine group-1" does not exist Does anyone know way it is doing that. I checked the cofig file and nothing is looking for anything 5 axis.
  21. I get that same error in x2 once in a while.
  22. MotorCityMinion, Those numbers get me new machines. There is a reason I keep track of the hours. The times we record are a positive thing not the crap that you talk about. You always have to better yourself. When you see what you had the day before it mentally challenges you to do better, at least it does for people that don't complain. If you would start trouble just for recording numbers maybe you should go into another trade. There are a lot of people out here that would step in your place and not complain. With that kind of attitude no wonder the United States is in trouble. Someone was asking a question and all I did is answer and explain what we do.
  23. I have 16-m controls and you can reset the operating time and the cutting time. We reset that time every morning and record what we got the day before. I have a form we fill in every morning before we start. It only takes a few seconds to do. It also challenges us when we see the time from the day before. We like to try to beat it. Numbers do all the talking.
  24. All I want to do is get my tool lengths offline and input them to the machine. I do not want to type them in.
