  1. Anyone having issues with the model compare in UVBS being extremely slow. I was programming a part that I was doing model compare on this morning and it would take about 15 seconds to do the compare. After the MU1 update the same part is taking 2 to 3 minutes. Is there a setting that needs to be tweaked? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Right click stock model in operations manager, mill toolpaths, stock model export to stl.
  3. I may be mistaken but I do believe you have to have an old style monochrome VGA monitor for the Emco F1 Mill. I looked at one of these where I helped at a training center a few years ago. You need to check the pinout for the display port. I think it is 8 pinout dsub. There is one on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEC-PC7XV-KA-VGA-14-MONOCHROME-MONITOR-NORTHERN-HEMISPHERE-120V-FR-PC7XV-KA-/190261879097 They also sell Emco's on ebay you may be able to find parts.
  4. Only does it on surfaces not solids. I have tried several different files and it does it on all of them. I have made cubes triangle spheres torus and it does it on all of them as long as it's surfaces. It seems to work fine with solids though. Even with surfaces created from solids it does it.
  5. Even though it is not a "show stopper" it is there and I can produce it every time. I tried it using the default config file installed with X7 and my config file. MIllman chill out.
  6. No, but it is a flaw and he is just asking for help.
  7. It was very good for 2D work. Unfortunately for me it is not that great for the 3D "kellering". That is pretty much all I do. When we get a Front End for UVBS it will be easy to adjust the settings dependent on the type of work you are doing and we won't have to bother with the XML editing. I hope! If I was doing all 2D I would have mine set like the post above. Having the Precision Index set at 5 or lower makes new file load times much faster. I think I am going to set mine to 3 and adjust once the file is loaded if need be.
  8. I just ran the program that choked my PC earlier with <FastRendering>true</FastRendering> and <PrecisionIndex>5</PrecisionIndex> and <PrecisionFactor>8.0</PrecisionFactor> and there was a huge difference in process time.
  9. <FastRendering>true</FastRendering> is what yours is set to. That is turbo mode which is set by default. It definitely is way faster in turbo. I don't use that because on the larger parts that I do the visual quality is pretty bad but for smaller parts it works great. I am sure that's the difference I'm seeing.
  10. Well that is simply amazing. I just set my Precision Factor to 8. I just drill 10 holes and faced one pass on a 12.00 x 16.00 x 2.50 stock 5 minutes ago and loaded it into verify with verify initially being closed and it is still loading. My memory is maxed out at 22.4 Gigs. Now it just finished loading after about 10 minutes and it's taking about 20 seconds to drill each hole. I can't take it anymore. Just closed verify before my PC blew up. I am running a Quadro 6000 with the same driver version as you GoetzInd. I don't know why there is such a huge difference.
  11. Was this verification done in 3 axis or 5 axis engine mode? By the way thanks for the Video card info.
  12. C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\my mcamx7\MastercamSimulatorDefaults.xml Open it and edit with notepad.
  13. What video card do you have in that Solidbox and what driver version are you running if I may ask?
  14. Once again a big Thank You to K2csq7 for this workaround. It has helped immensely.
  15. Heard rumor that all is well with that issue in MU1. Maybe the powers that be will let us minions in on this one.
  16. Are you sure it is the Precision Factor you have set at 8 and not the Precision Index. We are running high end Dell T7500's at my shop. They all have 24 Gigs of ram and setting the Precision Factor to 8 will give an out of memory error or corrupt memory on even a fairly simple part. Then if you do get it to run verify and try to use accurate zoom, forget about it. If you are actually able to run it that high stably don't ever get rid of that PC. Remember that when you change some of the settings in the XML you have to restart X7 for them to actually take.
  17. I leave my Precisionfactor at 2.5 and the Precisionindex at 5. that is a pretty good happy medium as far as speed and visual quality. By leaving the Precisionindex at 5 it will load the file faster and if you need better quality you can bump it up from there. I have had my Precisonindex and Precisionfactor cranked up higher before but when you have to "accurate zoom" an area it can take a great deal of time to process or even lock up. I have spent a great deal of time trying to find the settings that I can live with. Don't forget that changing some of these settings will not take effect unless you restart Mastercam.
  18. In the XML file look for Precision Factor. Default setting is 1. Set it to 2 or 2.5 and try that but remember it will drastically slow down verification speed. It will improve the visual quality to some extent.
  19. Here is some links to machinability ratings. I have machined this before. It is somewhere in between 303 and 304. http://www.niagaracu...dfeed/mach.html http://www.a-i-t.com...ty-rating-chart http://www.falcon-metals.com/stainlessandalloys/stainlesssteel/martensitic-grades.htm

  21. Running X6 MU3 and X7 SP2 and it happens to me at least once a day in either version. I am running Logitech MX Revolution mouse with latest Logitech driver with the setpoint software. Control center version 6.32.7 and driver version 5.33.14. It seems I have to be in a Mastercam session for a couple hours for it to happen.
  22. I keep my level manager open on 2nd monitor. If you keep level manager closed and only open it when needed it seems like the right mouse works fine.
  23. Yes, this happens to me all the time. It does it in X6 and in X7. And yes it is bothersome to those who actually program for a living. Only way I have been able to get the right mouse menu back for the level manager is to close Mastercam and restart it. I know it's not very heplful but at least it's not sarcastic.
  24. Sorry if I have offended anybody by raising some awareness to the issues in X7. I am not trying to rub anybody's face in "IT". I have "officially" had my hand slapped and was told to be more positive on the forum. I have not slapped away the helping hand as you say JP. I never really asked for any help with the issues that I complained about. As far as my motivations are concerned they are for hoping to head Mastercam in a more positive direction. Maybe I could have been more constructive in the way I did it. I appreciate any and all help I have received on this forum. Some of you have helped me immensely. I will try to do my best to be more positive. Once again. Sorry.
  25. Gcode, JP and others I do not spend anywhere near the amount of time on here that you do. I honestly do not have the time right now. You are not in my shoes and do not understand my situation. I have never singled out one person and harassed them like you and others are doing right now. All I am trying to do is raise some awareness to the issues in Mastercam and keep people alert.
