  1. This will happen sometimes when your default safety zone view is set to something other than a standard view. I get this alot when retrieving files from one of are programmers who is still on V9. JP is correct also.
  2. Besides that I should be able to group 50 ops together for stock model. Other softwares update the stock on the fly.
  3. This has nothing to do with it taking long it has to do with the ops not sticking. Read post #10 Smart#ss.
  4. You know that we need to keep throwing some gas on the fire if we want things to change. And like they say "change is good".
  5. As soon as I am doing with this part family I will probably be going back to X6. At least the features in Verify and Stock model function fairly stable.
  6. Thanks Peon for the feedback. With all the stress from dealing with all the other bugs and having to do workarounds I thought maybe I had finally snapped. Glad to know it isn't me.
  7. You are correct it blows.
  8. I would like to know if anyone else is having this issue. I am using X7 SP2 for the time being because I started a family of parts a while back. Anyhow since the new Verify I have been using stock models more. My big problem is that when I create a new Stock Model Op I select my last model as stock then select the ops I want for the stock model to process and then it only takes a second and I have the new stock model. Only problem is that the ops I selected did not stick. This happens everytime after having created the 1st stock model. The only way I can make the selected ops stick is to highlight the calculatable fields and tab thru them and click apply on each page.
  9. I may be wrong but I don't believe this variable is set in the XML file at this time. Maybe someone else can step in on this one and help out. I've tried setting this in the defaults also an have had no luck. Anyone?
  10. Watcher mentioned this in his post and I have mentioned this previously. I think everyone here should give this blog a read and it will open your eyes to some of the goings on with Mastercam and CAD/CAM in general. http://camzone.org/2011/09/07/component-technology-theres-no-fun-without-it/#more-670
  11. Well fortunately for me I AM stubborn enough to keep beating my head against a brick wall. I guess that is why I keep using Mastercam. Anyhow I figured out that it is only the legacy style toolpaths that do no have a treesstyle interface that bring in the duplicate tools. When I selected the treestyle ops and imported them, no duplicates. When I import the legacy toolpaths I get duplicates everytime.
  12. Once again another bug. I am doing a family of parts that are almost identical. I just wanted to import the toolpath operations to apply to each part in the family. I have about 60 operations using the same tool. When I import the operations it brings in 60 of the same tool. I have my config set to use existing tools and have duplicate tool checking enabled. I have tried saving the operations as *.ops and importing the toolpath directly from the file. Same thing. So once again here I am back pedaling to get my work done. I am using X7 SP2.
  13. Another thorn in the side!!
  14. We are going to be looking at Powermill and Topsolid as an alternative to use on the serious stuff. I have already demoed the Topsolid. A little strange as far as the interface goes but very powerful and fast. Very quick toolpath association and stock updating. Only thing bad on both of theses is there is no local support and they have weak online support forums.
  15. Has anyone found out why they removed all the other versions of X, other than X7, from the downloads section? Conspiracy Theory?
  16. Gcode, I know you are a big Mastercam fan and you help out tremendously with others problems but bottom line is that X7 is just another Failed release. We aren't Pi$$ing and Moaning we are just telling the truth. I know some of the features they have implemented have helped you and some others immensely. I am sorry, but they have totally missed the mark by pushing this out to soon. I would have thought they would have learned their lesson after the initial release of X6. There are so many features that I use in the old backplot and verification that are missing in UVBS that I am going back to X6 for the time being. It looks like we are going to start shopping around for something new. Our owners are very displeased with X7. I have been fighting to keep it for the last couple years. They believe CNC is just after the maintenance dollars. It's going to be a big change after 21 years with Mastercam.
  17. That is what we have done in our planning and QA depts. Works out just fine.
  18. If any of your endmills have a shank diameter smaller than the cutting flute diameter X7 Verify considers that an undercut tool. You might want to check that.
  19. Possibly a ploy to force everyone to X7?? I am seriously considering going back to X6. Thank goodness I have stored all the Mastercam downloads since Version X on our server.
  20. Sure would be nice if someone would put a link to Verisurf Tools for X7 under the downloads page. I had no idea they had even released it yet till I saw this thread. Thanks MrFish for starting the thread.
  21. Fixture were not included in this release.
