Hi Bridgeportboy,
My apologies for the inconvenience, it does seem as though the download is corrupt. I will be uploading a new version later today.

Hi Greenxman,
The version of Mastercam available on eMastercam.com is the Home Learning Edition/Demo software. It's available to customers who purchase our training materials and allows students to follow our books and training videos if they don't have access to a seat of Mastercam. It doesn't support chooks, you can't post, and files can only be saved as EMCX files which can only be opened in the HLE or an educational seat of Mastercam.

Hello Shredder,
The X9 HLE is expected to be released next week.
Regards,
Daniel Gingras

Hello Paul,
He should be able to open MCX files in the HLE and work on them for learning purposes. If he tries to save his work he'll only be able to save as an EMCX file, which can only be opened in the HLE or an educational license of Mastercam.

You are most welcome!

Sorry, in your case the folder would be "C:\Users\UserName\Documents\my mcamDemoHLEx8\CONFIG"

I have this document from the tech support department at In-House Solutions, it may help you:
Issue/ Error: Mastercam Crashing with On Board Graphics
***On Board graphic cards are not supported.***
However there are some customers that have been able to get them to work.
Disabling the hardware acceleration in Mastercam’s configuration can has allowed some user to use Mastercam without it crashing on open. This being said you may notice that the creation of toolpaths maybe slow due to this setting.
Since Mastercam is failing before you can access the Configuration you will need to manually modify it.
Go to C:\Users\UserName\Documents\my mcamx8\CONFIG
Open mcamx.config in NotePad
Go to line 4031 it should be defaulting to n please chance to a y
Please do the same for mcamxm.config
However, it's possible your computer might be too old to run X8.

Hi scottn1,
What is the model of your laptop?

Hello Rob,
We have 2 books that cover importing geometry files created in other CAD package (including SolidWorks) and then creating toolpaths. The X8 versions of the books can be found here:
Each of the store pages has a free sample PDF you can download to get an idea of what topics are covered in each book and how we approach the material.

I do not have experience in 5 axis machining ,you know maybe at some files for help mi more to understand this????
Hey master80,
There's a variety of resources available to help you learn multiaxis toolpaths. For books, we offer a few:
http://www.emastercam.com/board/store/product/711-mastercam-x8-intro-to-multiaxis-training-tutorial/
http://www.emastercam.com/board/store/product/712-mastercam-x8-advanced-multiaxis-training-tutorial/
http://www.emastercam.com/board/store/product/748-mastercam-x8-handbook-volume-3/
Each of the books at the above links has a free sample PDF you can download to see how the material is approached and what topics are covered in the books before buying anything. The handbook is more of a theory book and focuses more on the "what" and "why" as opposed to the "how" of the training tutorials.
You could also check with your local Mastercam reseller to see if they have any multiaxis training in your area coming up.

Let's keep the personal attacks to a minimum. We can disagree without insulting those we disagree with.

Hello Jon,
I passed your question along to the support department here at In-House. They sent me this video link to pass along to you: http://screencast.com/t/5Wd95Cpx9xE

Hi ,
Please sign me up.
I just bought emastercam art book with mastercam x8 Home Learning Edition installed.
How can I get the art menu show up on the tool bar?
Have you installed the Art HLE on top of the regular X8 HLE? If not, you can download it here: http://www.emastercam.com/board/files/file/899-mastercam-x8-art-home-learning-edition/

Hello Justin,
Which book are you using?
-
All print books take 1-2 weeks for delivery. Basically the further you are from Tennessee the closer to 2 weeks you get. We also have PDF versions of all materials that can be downloaded and viewed immediately upon purchasing.

Hello Justin,
The handbooks take more of a theoretical approach to Mastercam in comparison to the step-by-step approach of the training tutorials. You can check out free sample PDFs to see how the Handbooks differ from your current materials here: http://www.emastercam.com/board/store/category/166-handbooks/

The older versions of HLE disks that are given away with the In House Solutions books no longer work? Or its just not offered as a download?
X6 and earlier versions of our books will now be shipped out with an X7 HLE disc, and customers who purchase through the online store can also choose to download the X7 or X8 HLE.

Hello twenty-two,
Unfortunately the X6 home learning edition software expired back in October of 2013 and is no longer available. The only options at this point are to do everything on the school's computers, or for the school to update to a newer version.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

Unfortunately, it was related to training material not sold by In-House Solutions. I informed the original poster to contact the producers of that material for assistance.

I moved AlbertZini's questions to their own thread: http://www.emastercam.com/board/topic/79100-how-to-enter-the-program-from-the-usb-flash-card-in-cnc-machine-fanuc-0md/

Thanks Tyler.
Sorry, I majored in psychology, not "typing out a word I am currently looking at"

Thad: These are the Charles Davis handbooks, for sure. I believe In-House acquired the rights to them back around the X3 days and we've been updating them with each new Mastercam release.
