  1. +1 on Big Shepard. A bit spendy, but great tool.
  2. I am getting the same error message that Greg has stated. On install. Please advise. Thanks Jeremiah
  3. If you really need to place a value of an entity into another field within MC, use the right mouse button, drop down menu appears, x coordinate of a point, y,z ,dia of arc, many many more. When you are in the feild that you need to fill, right click, pick on entity and there you go. HTH Jeremiah [ 04-09-2003, 01:06 PM: Message edited by: Jeremiah ]
  4. What I have done is took all control from the programmer and set the post's up to default to the tool number for the height and diameter numbers. We have approx 25 different machines and it gets quite clustered trying to make sure this machine is reading h1/d1 and this old machine is using h1/d31. I have also written the appropriate .set files to jive with the post's so our presetter will always be outputting the correct coordinates to the correct offsets. my .02 Jeremiah
  5. yes, kindof. What I would like to do is have one part drawn and be able to machine the part complete. One setup from one side and the second setup chucking on what was turned in teh first setup. [ 04-04-2003, 02:01 PM: Message edited by: Jeremiah ]
  6. Is it possible to have multiple setups in one file in lathe? And if so, how ? I do this in mill all day long and am trying to help our lathe guy get up to speed. I DID do a search, but found nothing. Thanks Jeremiah [ 04-04-2003, 10:26 AM: Message edited by: Jeremiah ]
  7. Otto/Tony- I too plan to get rid of the big six and am looking into to CRF 450. I don't ride many tracks, mostly woods ridin. I have heard that they might be coming out with another model, similar to the WR/YZF combination. Hopefully lighting coil and what not. Have you heard any of these rumors? Oh yeah, nice office. Like the PW in the background. My son is only 16 months, but we just got him an 85 JR50. [ 04-04-2003, 09:16 AM: Message edited by: Jeremiah ]
  8. I think when there are a certain number of replies to a thread, the folder starts burning, showing that it is a "hot" topic. Now do you get it ?
  9. thanks to the hijaking, I get my first flames.
  10. Sandybar We are up by Scappoose. It started out as just a couple riding buddies, but has since turned into much more. If you are interested in attending, e-mail me. I ride the Trask alot too. Do you know Gramps ?
  11. jadkins To the best of my knowledge this is another limitation of MasterCam. I too see this quite often. If you have another cad system (solid works) for example, try exporting an stl. from there. Often times it will render better in verify, but not always. Hopefully this is better in 9.1 ? HTH Jeremiah
  12. Doing what you said Rekd will still make 3 passes. It stays .005 off the floor and walls, finishes the floor then finishes the wall. It sounds like rberdych wants to take one rough then one finish. I too would like to beable to do this in one operation but have yet to see the way. A work around that I use is to use one operation for the roughing, drag copy it down and change the parameters for a finish pass. HTH Jeremiah
  13. Not to take MY thread back or anything, but I ride an XR600. I often times put the dual sport kit on and ride the roads, but mostly its for slinging mud on my buddies. We just moved to a new area and I have been working on trails for the past 2 months. This Saturday I am hosting a Poker Run and expect 35-40 riders. Could these week drag on any longer ??? Where in the west are you CMR ? Jeremiah
  14. Rekd teh X-Oregonean- How could you move from such a beautifull place? Where were you from ? Simon- My inintial trouble shooting started with the feedrate between loops, but it wasn't doing anything when the previously mentioned (adjust feed on arc move) is turned on. Thanks again for the replies Jeremiah
  15. That did the trick. Musta accidentally switched this on. Learn something new every time I'm in here. We are about 30 miles west of Portland. Thanks for the help Jeremiah
  16. O.k. hopefully this has happened to someone somewhere. One of my guys just finished programming a part. It goes to the floor and after several hours the setup guy needs a tweak made. We fix what he wanted then re-post the file. All of a sudden there are additional copious feedrate call outs. As shown below: G1 X1.3 F175. G3 X1.3 Y-1.0333 J1.0333 F.01 G1 X-73.6209 F175. G2 X-73.6209 Y1.0333 J1.0333 F.01 G1 X1.3 F175. G3 X1.3 Y3.0999 J1.0333 F.01 G1 X-75.1209 F175. This is part of a faceing operation with high speed loops. The first time it was posted it was all one feedrate. My quesstion is what could have caused this? I was able to salvage the old file and all was hunky dory. Thanks for you help in advance. 17. Looks like you are getting lots of feedback Matt. Here's some more. We have 2 A55E's hooked together with a 27 pallet system. They will crank 20,000 rpm all day/night long. The options on these puppies are limitless. Great machines. We also have 2 HMC40's with glass scale feedback that have been cranking out tight tolerance work for over 10 years. Yeah the tool changers are a bit clunky and if you ever get it jammed up, the manual tool change controller is a great experience. Along the lines of what Bucket was saying, you have to tell it what is in the spindle after start up or reading an M30. We also have a H1516, cradle style 5 axis machine. Once again the machining options are limited only by your imagination. Good luck with the new Makinos, you'll love em.
  18. Thanks guys, the Harley is cool, but not really what I am looking for. Anyone else that might have a dirt bike image / cad ??
  19. I am making some trophies for an poker run and would like to engrave an image of an off-road motorcycle on the label portion of the trophie along with the name of the event. Does anyone have some simple graphics that they wouldn't mind sharing ? Thanks in advance Jeremiah [ 05-08-2003, 09:25 AM: Message edited by: Jeremiah ]
  20. We use a foam on very complex parts. One thing to keep in mind, if the actual part is 6AL4V or something similar, you might fly thru the foam and end up fighting the actual part to get speeds/feeds depth/widths dialed in. Yes, I am speaking from a bad experience. my $.02 Jeremiah
  21. You could do it in more than one op,and I am relatively certain it will have to be at least 2, for the 180-0 transition, but I don't think it will even do this? We are using surf/fin/par. for roughing. Copying the op down and changing the amnt of stock to leave on drive surfs. By the time you rough each set 2 times, there will be quite a few ops in there, not to metntion the finishing of them. Yes you are correct that it should be on t-plane 4. Sorry I wasn't clear in the e-mail Jay, it is often difficult to apply words to frusteration. Do I need more geometry in the file for you to see it ? If there is a better way, please advise. Thanks Jeremiah [ 03-18-2003, 10:37 AM: Message edited by: Jeremiah ]
  22. Jay put SURF_PARALLEL_TO_SUPPORT.MC8 on the ftp site. We are having trouble roughing the contour with more than one set of surfaces in one operation. The intention is to ramp up all allowable surfaces from 180 deg then ramp up all others from 0 deg. If you have one operation with only one set (3 surfaces) in the geometry it works, but when you use more than one set of surfaces in one operation it doesn't completely cut all the selected surfaces. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jeremiah [ 03-18-2003, 10:11 AM: Message edited by: Jeremiah ]
  23. Tom- I have been demo-ing the add-on for a couple weeks. I am not going to purchase it, even at the reduced price. My thoughts are that if I am going to invest in a verify program, it should at least work. Jeremiah
  24. Several 7050 hog outs for the new top to the ??? airpalne, guess I better leave it at that.
  25. Heavy- I have set up a misc int. that out puts/stop restart. This is for use in the middle of a tool. One thing for sure is that you can only have one chain in your operation and depth cuts or multipasses can not be enabled. pstop_restart prv_coolant = 0 if opcode = 15, [ sav_xout = vequ(xout) xout = vequ(x) n,G00,*zout,e n,pwcs,*xout,*yout,e n,M00,comment,e n,pchg_speed,*spindle_on,e pcoolant_on,e xout = vequ(sav_xout) ] else, [ sav_xout = vequ(xout) xout = vequ(xh) n,G00,*zout,e n,*xout,*yout,e n,M00,comment,e n,pchg_speed,*spindle_on,e pcoolant_on,e xout = vequ(sav_xout) ] this by all means is not all you will need to add to your post, but hopefully it will give you an idea. E-mail me if you want more info on how to incorporate this. Jeremiah
