Well if you're talking about re-mapping keys. Lets use your example and say you normally use alt + m to mirror, you CAN remap it to whatever you want. So You could make alt + z mirror. And you can do this with (almost) any mastercam function I am fairly certain.

What definition of a macro are you using? A key that does something else? (Ex. Hitting the ` button, actually hits shift+1) Or a line of code that you can program to a button or hotkey?

I'm nowhere near as well-versed as a lot of these guys so I'll leave the heavy hitting stuff to them. But here at my shop we use a quintax 5 axis machine and we only do one-offs. It's a pretty nice machine and we haven't had much problems with it.

My knowledge is pretty limited in the Mastercam world, but my PC knowledge is pretty large, so hopefully I can help out there for awhile until I learn the ropes. And my Game of choice at the moment would be Dark Souls. I played WoW in a hardcore environment for over 6 years, quit last year and haven't touched MMO's since I normally play RPG's and action games though. (Skyrim, KoA:R, ME3, FF13-2 etc etc.)

Well, I did tell him he needed to buy a Razer Naga! Although the Logitech we have here isn't too bad. and thanks, lots of information here I'm pretty eager to learn what the heck I'm doing.

I reccomend a Logitch G-Series, or even a Razer Naga (LOTS of hot-keyable buttons if you take the time to set it up.) You might also want to check the keybind settings in Mastercam, and make sure that scroll wheel up is set to zoom out.
