can you just rename the file extension from .drw to .slddrw and try and convert it into mastercam. might be worth a shot, i've done similarly crazy stuff before HTH

+1000 'incremental' alot of people shy away from using incremental, at least what I have noticed. it can sure make life alot easier and shorten up the amount of ops you use.

it crashes right after asking me what mat'l. and the alarm is a memory error: "The instruction at "0x7800fa97" referenced memory at "0x00000057". The memory could not be "read". "Click OK to terminate, blah blah blah" any ideas? Thx

ATI cards are not recommended for use with MasterCAM. Get another card. If you can't afford another card try the newest drivers. BTW, Welcome to the forum.

the graphics thingy in mine was OK, still crashes any other known issues?

not sure on the verify problem, if you say that all your settings are correct. on the Cplane issue, yes, this is very annoying. I have started to open the wcs manager and make a copy of the desired Cplane and rename it so that when I close and re-open at least I know that its named instead of going doh! where'd it go. not sure exactly why it changes them though, kinda if u ask me. HTH

thanks mick, need to pick up that book. still not sure what all vbscript can do for me noone has any examples of what you can do in mcam with vbscript? I find that hard to believe.

Can you guys give me some examples of what can be done in MasterCAM using VB? Or where can I get some in depth info on using it in Mcam? Sounds like it could be very useful! If I were to write something in VB for Mcam would I need to purchase it? or does Mcam come with a VB authoring proggy? Thx,

mine have never been close. never understood how it calculates these things. does anyone know of any settings that affect the time calculations?

yes acuity manager. have you tried running OpenGl at default? Is the video driver up-to-date? I've never used MCam 8, only 9 & 9.1

I am using this card. I had alot of problems until I figured out what the glitch was. I am also setup for dual monitors, and I think that is what my issue was linked to but maybe it's the same for you. The acuity settings were messing my mcam up. If you have this enabled, try disabling it. Did you tell it to optimize for MasterCam? HTH

Run CNCReg.exe On the settings tab find your installed product (ex. V9 Mill) and reset the position and coloumn width (bottom two reset buttons). Not sure if that will work, but another grammer here changed his font and it screwed up some of his mcam dialog boxes and that fixed his problem. HTH -
what video card r u running for dual monitors? I had some issues with my settings when we first got setup for dual monitors, took me a day of playin' with them to figure it out. When you click on your levels manager button on the side do you notice if it opens a prompt at the bottom of the screen?

there is a way to make the levels dialog prompt for entry at the bottom of the screen but I can't remember how. oh yeah, check in system config on the screen tab that you don't have "enter level in prompt area checked" HTH

a mori for 70k less that a DMG? r u kidding me? we went with the DMG because it was half the cost of a comparable mori. liked them so much considering the cost we bought two more.

is it stretching outside the desktop (off the screen) if so it might be a video card setting. what video card are u using? might be able to reset position by running CNCReg.exe located in your mcam install folder. HTH -
I couldn't live without my seat of solids. Sounds like you need to do some convincing. Our designer sounds like he came out of the same mold as cmr's designer. Always changing stuff. BTW: welcome to the forum thoskins.
