THAT IS SOMETHING I WAS WONDERING ABOUT WHAT WOULD BE THE EFFECT ON MY OTHER OP'S. WE MAKE ELECTRIC MOTOR COVERS SO
MOST OR ALL HAVE BEARING POCKETS. THAT I NORMALLY HELIX BORE. AND FOR SOME REASON THEY ARE ALWAYS PERFECT.
THATS A GREAT IDEA THOUGH THAT I'M GOING TO PUT IN MY NEXT E-MAIL TO TECH SUPPORT.
So in understanding this I'm not giving the control enough information for it to complete the commanded arc. I had not had a chance to really delve into the smoothing settings or arc/filter tolerance.
I think with this I am going to just try the settings and see what happens .Hard to do with onesies and twosies. But with my limited experience most of my settings were by Default. From what I was told the company had purchased MCX and it was never used for two years! And the class here at Vincennes University just gives you a cursory once over. It is a very Basic course.
Again Thanks I'm learning alot!!
And maybe just one more question since we are on it. Why doesn't any of this show up in backplot or verify??? I realize that is a stoopid Question.
But Damn it looked so good in both and the tool didn't even Twitch?? I'm working on updating our CIMCO seat it's V5 and no backplot. I assumed when we bought MCX7
with the maintenance we would be upgraded on CIMCO also. Anybody else deal with that?
Thanks Dave
Ok but just a Question about linearization. I realize it will create more code, But doesn't it also leave more room for control errors. Will it create issues on 3D work?
And Tech support completly lost it on this one.
Hello All,
It seems we lost the track the original issue from the customer. The reposted output is different from the original NC file. The part shape in Mastercam file is different from the attached pictures.
I use CIMCO editor to backplot the customer’s NC file and cannot find the cutting through.
I've had it veer off on small arcs and sometimes get stuck in a loop but this one wasn't like that it just did a straight move through the part and repeated as it moved down the radius. If you look at the pic it actually worked well for about a third of the radius.
I was unaware of that and I assumed backplot would give me a virtual view of the tools path but apparently not . Good to know!!
Are you doing that through CIMCO??
It's an MSC-521 control
Naw we just put the radius in the lathe . just to get the two parts out. But I'm keeping your suggestions for a retry. It Just freaked me how well backplot did and machine or post just walked away.
I'm using a Mori FM-1 Mill Fanuc controls. And i would like to believe you are correct. I was actually hoping it was my fault. So much easier to fix my stupid then the machines or post.
This one should be fun for whoever figures it out. I'm currently connected to Tech support but as yet no answer. This part is fine But for the waterline path cutting the radius with a bull endmill. Backplot and verify seem right. But when posted see photo's.
Thanks Dave
I Love Cimco so damn easy even I could figure it out . I had to start from scratch new nothing about it at all even had to make the wire connectors myself.
I'm not catching exactly what you want on the drop down there are two one upper and one lower? which are you changing. both are on the right and you can toggle each. one for part and one for library.
Yes they do suck especially in that area. I know a guy that does freelance work. very knowledge able with Mazak. Can't remember his name tho! sent an e-mail to my friend
will let you know if or when he gets back to me.
