  1. Leith If this is an older Fanuc control you cannot process two m codes per line regards George
  2. Thanks Bucket thats what I'll probably do regards George
  3. Thanks Millman, I can trick it easy enough, Ive been sitting here the last few minutes looking through the post. I guess we are all from zion today My son just waited an hour on line for tickets
  4. Hi All! I have a toolpath to copy, so I use transform-translate, set everything, I want sub programs so I check that too. It works ok. In the operations manager there is the parent operation and the transform results. When I post it the first part is coded as a stand alone part and the rest are subs. Does anyone know how I can make the first part a sub also. Im just trying to streamline the nc file, so all I see is position and sub call. thank you George remember to put the wheels down before landing
  5. Steve nice to have spoken with you regards George
  6. Steve I received your call but could not hear you

  10. Matt I think you have to hit the set button twice
  11. Its been some years since I touched a 6 but I think the variables were accessed by depresing the SET button, which is just below POS regards George
  12. I have had 2 Dell notebooks, my friend just bought a sager, as a desktop replacement. the price was good for the options offered. Obviously its sagernotebook.com regards George
  13. Mick we are very excited as to the possibilities of vb and mastercam. We very much want to offer our customers parametrics for entrance doors and windows. I was speaking with Rich Taft last Friday, (perhaps you remember I met you outside during lunch)we have an outline for a door interface perhaps you would like to see it? regards George
  14. I also would love to see parametrics in mastercam. I have written countless macros for the fanuc controls, and many things can be done faster at the control, just by answering a few variables.
  15. I hope that you and your family will be safe regards George

  17. JG I use right angle heads almost every day, and I have no problems. Create the workplane, then apply the toolpath. then alt C select the aggregat dll. Then you can set up the type of right angle head. there is a switch in the post use_oal this captures the overall length of your tool, which you could set as the distance from the center of the aggregate to the tool tip. If you need more help email me regards George
  18. This really gets my goat. I have two sons in college, and because there not basketball players I pay the full amount of their tuition. I recently sold my small airplane, I dont go out for a Friday night dinner, I dont take vacation. I cancelled a few magazine subscriptions. Im lucky I can pay my gym membership these days Broke in Connecticut George
  19. I just laughed for 10 minutes at that license, and emailed to my friends its so true regards George
  20. My full time job is as an engineer, but I sometimes also repair machines on the weekend for extra money. I retrofit old machines with newer Fanuc controls, and basic repairs. I just rebuilt a spindle on a old Mazak with an old Fanuc 7 control. They cut alot of graphite for edm electrodes, and this is what destroyed the bearings. Machines in a hazardous environment should have either an air purge at the nose of the spindle, but the air "must" be free of water, or the bearings lubricated with air oil mist. I have many years experience with high speed spindles 18-30,000 rpm and the spindles that are air oil mist lubricated last the longest. The only draw back is they need constant maintenance to make sure the proper oil to air ratio is maintained. good luck George ps I downloaded one of your tricks the one with the spheres. I have a job comming up where I must project an image onto a sphere. I have not done that yet in mastercam, but I have done it a few years ago in smartcam
  21. Plasttav just curious, what materials are you machining. Cast iron will definitely penetrate the labirynth seals, as will fiberglass. How was your spindled cooled and lubricated.? I have seen spindles cut aluminum at 6-10,000 rpm last 12 years regards George
  22. Thanks Jimmy I will give you a call. I currently use curve5ax for machining while rotating I found a few issues with nest and block drilling I will discuss with you. when is a good time to call you thank you George
  23. Got married while I was in my last semester at college, that was wow 21 years ago. I have one son 21 another son 19 and a daughter 15 Both of my sons are currently in college, and yes Im broke regards George
  24. Jimmy do you use compound angle aggregates? I am also curious how do you offset the distance from the center of the aggregate to the tool tip? Do you use the use_aol in the post? I set up my customers post to output a line like this G18 G44 H82, or G19 G43 H82. This way they can input the horizontal offset at the machine, and not have to know the length in the programming dept. This is especially helpful if your machine has C axis. We sell machines to many high end door and window manufacturers. Where we use 1 or 2 aggregates and a horizontal router, with 360 deg rotation for deep lock mortise machining. We use the compound angle aggregates obviously for drilling on angles, but for the door people they bevel the hinge side 4 degrees, so now the hinge must also be on a 4 deg angle. I was curious if you have used the tool angle and length in the aggregate c hook? Do you know Wendell Long at Diversified equipment?
  25. Actually millman we do both on routers, as a matter of fact I have designed routers that do automatic tool changes for both the vertical and horizontal routers on the same machine, using hsk 63 tooling
