When I want to use corners set to none I cannot use ramp, if I do the corners are rounded When nesting I want the nesting results printed next to the nest I also want to be able to give the nesting job a name and recall it any time modify the parts or quantities, then re nest rgds George

  7. thank you Millman thanks Jimmy Say Jimmy you deal with alot of router people like me, perhaps you can help me. I wrote a post for a Komo router with 4 parallel spindles, no tool changers. What I want to do is when they get a tool from the library say its number T500 I want that tool number linked to a work offset. The way I do it now is from the tool parameters page I select t/c then I set a unique work offset (1=G55 2=G56 etc)for that tool. Im afraid sometimes the end user will forget to do this, so I want the work offset linked to the tool I would appreciate any assistance rgds George

  10. I have seen and know people with this machine. It is not the quality of a Northwood or a Heian. If you want to cut hardwoods and achieve a nice finish this is not the machine for you. Could you elaborate more on what your expectations are? Do you want to do nested manufacturing at 1300 ipm then you will want to look at the Northwood rgds George
  11. Working from home today. I have to design a spindle retrofit and a 12 tool tool changer for an older machine rgds George oh then I have to make a post for the machine
  12. I could make a full time business repairing and re-building Fadals Hope that gives you a hint rgds George
  13. You also cannot nest parenthesis (part name(jj)01) rgds George
  14. I started with a pencil and a calculator, I had intro to nc in college, I wrote programs in the tool and die shop I worked in through college, doing all the math myself. I learned APT. I wrote a program in basic in a radio shack trs80 pocket computer, that would give you the coordinates of tangent points if you knew the intersection coordinates of three points and the corner radius. I have digitized parts then manually cleaned it up. I learned NC polaris in the late 80's I learned smartcam in 89 or 90 I learned mc in 95 but I dont remember the version number re-learned newer version of nc polaris in 95 virtual gibbs in 96 Bridgeport ez cam in 97 surfcam in 99 alpha cam in 01 mc version 8 in 02 My company sells mastercam these days by choice.
  15. Bill your machine is not wired for a probe, nor do you have macro b. with macro b you could at least read the 5000 variables which are absolute positions. The only thing you can do is manually move the machine and write down the coordinates. Believe it or not Steinway piano does this, as they dont want to cough uo the money to do it the right way rgds George
  16. Iskander I always wanted to ask you what its like living in Israel, but felt maybe you did nt want to speak about. I have lived in Japan and Korea
  17. My friends you must learn everything you can, You have to make yourself indespensible. Dont have the "thats not my job attitude". Its true the more you know the further you'll go. We live in a world in which pay scales are unfair, and what I mean by that is a sanitation worker in New York City makes more money and has better benefits than most people on this forum. I live in Connecticut and I have watched machine tool companies go out of business or move. Recently Bridgeport machines closed. Many skilled people lost their jobs
  18. Dan I agree it sounds like the tape code on the one machine is set to eia not iso rgds George
  19. Gilsu I do not know about the chook cadcam is recommending. but to draw on the sides of the part and do machining, you must set the Z construction plane location on the secondary menu. Example if you have a square 6*6*1 inch thick, and you want to machine a circle .5dia on the back of the part your Z setting will be 12. Then your top of stock will be 12, and you can set clearance and depths incremental from that point. So you need to set the cplane the tplane then the z value in that order. regards George
  20. Gilsu did you try to translate between views?? regards George
