  1. why not try and run adware and spyware removers before taking such drastic action?I do this all the time to computers that are hopeless and most of the time they end up working fine once the crap is off. She will have a billion windows ME updates to install afterwards if you decide to stick with it... Windows ME is bad bad news.
  2. I prefer that mine have 4 lips. Oh, are we talking about cutters? My bad.
  3. uh, that's from the 2000 sydney olympics.. they had it on the evening news back when it happened.
  4. Anybody getting laid off want to come work out this direction? Coming from Cali the cost of living will not be hard to adjust to. We have an opening for another programmer. Most important thing is that you're a better MCAMer than me... I'm not so good on the 3D surface model type stuff. 5ax CMS wood router and another machine to be determined is in the works. Email me through my profile for more details. Rick
  5. for those who like the prarie dog shootin... click here
  6. We're using a carter Z-laser here mostly for pod locating and the occasional part locating. Works pretty well for us.
  7. He's been busy for a good long time.. Even before the other MC dealer in the carolinas went away..
  8. harder to explain what I'm trying to accomplish... cutting a compound angle slot on top surface for an elliptical louver blade with our 5ax head. Already done it but that particular drawing wasn't cooperating... I went and rotated from a different file, one of the others that I used to cut parts and it extruded correctly.. I don't get it but I'm able to move forward now. Thanks. Ripper teh don't always know what I'm doing but I'm getting the parts cut right!
  9. This one is killing me because I've done it and had it work, but it's like MCAM is not liking the plane I'm on or something. Two files on the FTP in MC_forummc9 files. File name Ripper1.mc9 & Ripper2.mc9 On the first drawing it shows what I'm starting with. When I do construction plane entity to get to plane 10 and look down the solid, I can see that the solid lines up with what it was extruded from. On the second drawing, all I did was rotate the result on construction plane side about the yellow point. I do Gview-entity to get to the new plane 10, and when I look down the solid, it doesn't align with the chain it was extruded from. I've tried extruding after rotating and it still does the same thing. What's really getting me is I've done this for 5 different angles(this job sucks) and the solid has lined up, but now it's not. Maybe the new plane 10 is wrong? But I don't know how that could be since I did gview-entity, which should create a new plane if necessary.. urgh! Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
  10. Been a long time since I've been here.. I click on the link to the FTP and it tells me a connection could not be established.. Do I need to change some setting? I didn't see anything specific in the ftp upload instructions. Ripper teh need to u/l two files for some help..
  11. Jimmy, You called last week and said you'd have my post changes by thursday.. :-)
  12. got mine. but hey it brought me back to the forum after a few months.
  13. Sorry if you took it as a personal attack. right or left, I have no tolerance for nonsense. (There is plenty on both sides, all the time) A-ron, mark lovelace, and many others have posted reasonable opinions on both sides of the fence based on decent facts. But I found parts of your post to be, well, senseless, thus my suggestion for you to try a lower altitude. By your logic, George W. Bush would have been responsible for 9/11 whether it was 8 months into his term or if had it been his first day in office, that's ridiculous. quote: Well Jeb , he kind of cute. Bet his picture is next to the word half-wit in the dictonary. That quote ranks up there with the "can I have a free post" or "send me disk with mastercam". I mean, really.. Geesh.
  14. quote: Working at 7000ft makes me one of the highest paid machinist in the US Uhh dude, your brain needs more oxygen, seriously. Drivel, plain and simple.
  15. I don't doubt they would send one into the AK wilderness. And I am aware that their missles could reach hawaii or the west coast. But I don't believe one has actually come this way yet. but I don't think the missles have the reach to swing all the way down to us and either turn back or slingshot around the equator back to AK. If they had that kind of fuel they could probably reach anywhere in the continental us. I don't think they are there yet. They probably know that if they sent one this way that they wouldn't even get to enjoy seeing what happened because the us nuclear subs off korea would turn n. korea into a wasteland before it reached here.. if not then probably shortly thereafter.. I would definitely be though! Wasn't denying the missile guidance stuff to china.. and I can tell you wouldn't post bs..
  16. quote: He had no response when confronted by the fact that the previous administration sold China missle guidance technology and shortly after that North Korea had a successful missle launch in ’95 that flew directly over Hawaii and fell somewhere in the Alaskan wilderness. EH? Show me this information anywhere on the web besides you just posting it. A missile, flies over hawaii, and then takes a near 180 degree turn and goes north and lands in the alaska wilderness? I live in hawaii and have since the early 80's.. I think I would remember something like this, heck, it'd have been national news anyway. So I'm calling "misinformation" on this one. I could be wrong, it has been known to happen before. Not that I'm some Clinton supporter, I am certainly not, but I'm a stickler for truthful facts. No offense is intended, I understand the overall jist of your post, like I said, I just have a thing for the truth.
  17. This is an "urban legend", so to speak. About the only thing it is good for is letting you know that you are infected by getting the returned email... It will not "stop the virus from spreading" once it unsuccessfully sends an email. For more information, look at this link at snopes snopes.com is awesome. Run all your forwards through there, you may be surprised how many are BS.
  18. quote: The pics are from my passport and drivers license.(I dont like having my pic took.) They let you wear sunglasses in your passport photo?
  19. quote: Ripper, how did you get hooked up with Jimmy now. Boy do you get around.. Kind of a long story.. But Jimmy knows CMS machines real darn good, and since Hawaii is "open", we had Jimmy come out to help us. quote: CMS had me do some work on his CMS 5ax router. (Which is so big it takes up like half the island.) CMS? I think we paid the bill. It's a good thing our shop is in the middle of the island.. wouldn't want a big router like ours to capsize us out here in the pacific..
  20. quote: What's worse is that many IT/IS departments have anti-virus clients setup to send an email to the "person" who sent the virus. This just makes things worse by occupying the CPU time of mail servers and Internet bandwidth in general Not to mention they are many times sending the emails to an address that was spoofed.. Sometimes they'll blacklist someones legit email who wasn't infected because the virus was spoofing that persons address but really sending from another..
  21. I didn't get infected, I just got the suspect emails.. (and promptly deleted) I am guessing this one is gonna break wide open tomorrow morning when east coasters get in to work.. Ripper teh calling it Speaking of calling.. Didn't hear from you today like you said I would..
  22. This one is a category 4. And I'm already getting hammered with infected emails. Read up on it and be safe. http://securityresponse.symantec.com/[email protected]
