  1. Five years thats great. So now is it called eMastercam Fivums? You have my vote to change the name every year. Jody teh smart a$$
  2. Günther I like the setup sheet but i just ran into an error on it or the programmer (me). If you drill and select incremental depth the setup sheet only finds the first drill location for the min Z. I did try the changing the Z-Min/Z-Max button from incl rpd moves to only fr moves. I dont know what that does but I do know that it did not fix the Z depth problem. thank you Jody

  4. get PrintKey it uses the print screen button like it should be used. http://www.geocities.com/~gigaman/ it will print a picture of the window that is open or the whole screen. nice to have for printing after you verify a part, you can swap the color black with a ba$tard and not waste your black ink. Jody
  5. this was copied from http://cncmagazine.com/Answers/Communicate.htm it is not from the hard drive but i would think that it would be the same concept. Jody quote: Dear Applications: I need to DNC from my Zip™ drive. I go to LIST PROGRAM while in DNC mode and type in “ZIP,” but the machine does not recognize the Zip drive. DNC is enabled in Parameter 57, and Setting 55 (ENABLE DNC FROM MDI) is also turned on. Any step-by-step advice would be helpful. Thanks, Mark Dame Dear Mark: Be sure you have a disk in the Zip drive, press the LIST PROGRAM button, enter the letters ZIP in the Haas and then press the F4 key. This will switch the machine from the floppy drive to the Zip drive. Next, you have to know the name of the program that you want to call up from the Zip drive. This will be the full program name with extension; for example, O12345.NC. For the control to recognize the file, you will have to enter the entire name: The letter O followed by five digits, a period and the letters NC. Press the MDI button and type in the full name of the program you want from the Zip disk. Press the MDI button again; the control should display DISK READ at the bottom of the screen. When the file is ready, it will display DNC PROG READY. When the control finds the end of the file, it will display DNC END FOUND. Press CYCLE START at any point after you see the message DNC PROG READY. The machine will operate normally. Sincerely, Haas Applications
  6. Jimp, do you have any experiance using Peps and SBL files with your agie? How does it compare to Mastercam wire? thanks Jody
  7. I am talking the columns between the different parameters. like the step down may put the '-' on one line and then the '.375' below it. or the tool name on 2 or 3 lines. thanks Jody
  8. Betts and Gunther thanks That is what i was looking for. Now one other question is there a way to have the columns default a little wider. thank you Jody
  9. I have looked again and i do not know how to find the Windows-System-Configuration-Country-Numbers. so that i can change the default decimal to more places thatn two. could someone point me in the right direction? thanks Jody
  10. Guy the coolent took all the graphite down to a big tray with a fancy paper towel that collected the graphite and let the coolent through. every two weeks or so i would cut the paper and throw out the graphite it collected. the paper was on a roll that was 24" wide. When I came here and saw them fighting with the crappy portable sucker I was sure that even if you had to handle the wet trodes it was worth not have the dust and have the big sucker nozzle in the way. I was new in the trade at the other place so i do not know if the tools lasted longer there or not. Jody
  11. quote: better results by soaking the graphite in edm oil before machining. It's messy but the tools last more than twice as long. I have never heard that before. Does anyone else do this. At the last place I worked We had a mill setup just for cutting trodes not high speed. but it used edm oil for coolent so we did not need a sucker system, that was nice. Jody
  12. quote: Look at your Windows-System-Configuration-Country-Numbers.Where do i find this in XP Pro? thanks for the cool programs. Jody
  13. try velocity they have a lot of long reach or rib cutters. Jody
  14. got it today:) it looks like you have a better chance of getting your quote in the calendar if your name starts with a 'T'.
  15. Hello all, Can the translators be updated in the draft version of mastercam? If so how? We bought the draft so that the boss could quote jobs on his computer but he can not open the newer files. Thank you Jody
  16. I got it to work It is an easy(stupid) solution, at least it was for me. the nice worthless ethernet instructions that HAAS emailed to me tells you to make a new user with a password on the computer that you are hooking up. It does not point out the obvious. When you type in you password on the computer unless you are yelling at the computer it is in lower case. Then you type it in to the HAAS and it only types in uppercase. So now the thing works not like I thought but it does work. Thank you all for taking the time to help me. Ron I have instructions on how to hook it up to XP if you need the four different PDF files I can put them on the FTP Thank you Jody I can now program at over 5000 RPM and faster than 50 IPM
  17. i do have a peer to peer network set up with 5 computers, a plotter, a switch and a hub. workgroup is the network group in 'my netwok places' so that is what i put in as the domain? i thought about making a crossover cable and bringing is my old computer from home tommorrow to try that. thank you Jody
  18. Are you using the nt/tcp or the adv/tcp. Domain? we dont have a domain server do i leave that blank? thanks Jody
  19. I do have the dir shared but i do not know if the path is set right. what all do i need in the path line? (c:haaspgm) or just (haaspgm)that being the dir that is shared. The IP address in the tcp setting is the haas IP address, right? i would not think it is the computer that i am trying to get to. thank you Jody
  20. I have downloaded the manuals that pertain to the ethernet but it does not tell me how to use the haas control to get to the network or a certian direcory on a computer. Thank You Jody
  21. Does anyone have a haas with ethetnet set up on there network? How do I get to a computer from the netshare screen? I can ping to the haas but dont know how to go from the haas to a computer. Thanks jody [ 12-01-2004, 01:03 PM: Message edited by: ctmJody ]

  23. Greg the nice thing is that you farmed the harder jobs to the suckers around the corner. Do you want me to stop by and show you the little that i know about it. Jody
  24. Greg, We have it I do not use it to pull eletrodes but I do use it for extending surfaces and filling in gaps it is worth the money. come on down and take a look. Jody
