If your maintenance has expired on December 1, 2005 or later, upon starting this version you will be in MR1 (Maintenance) Mode.
So those of us poor folk that maintenance expired at the end of the year can still install MR1 and it will work?
You guys rock!!
Thank you
Jody
Which part did I lose you in? That I do not like to open two windows of X?
If I am working on something in X, I dont like to interupt that window to view a part for 5 minutes. I like to open it in a different window of something. I geuss I dont lose my train of thought if I dont close the part that I am working as fast as if i did close the part that I am working on. Before X I would be working in mill 9 and open somthing to view for a few minutes in design 9.
does that make it clear as mud
Jody
teh I know what I mean I just cant type it.

You never loose what you had when your maintenance expired. Sorry gcode that is not true.
We lost the STEP translation in V9 at the begining of the year. We did not renew are maintenance because of the money.
yes I do still have STEP translation in X but opening two windows of X is a big mess. So I try to open a file to look at real quick in V9, but not anymore.

Mig, but I am a little lost also you say the walls not shiny at all, and the scallop thing also confuses me. Could you please explain?
Jimmy that is funny that you said about the high speed mills that is exactly what I said to the foremen when I blew up at him before I ask you all.
Rob I am going to order some uncoated EM and try what you are saying. Tell Brad Switt I said Hey. oh do you know him? and yes the chocolet was very good I gained 5 lbs and it is your fault thanks.
Right now he is running a 1/2 Tialn EM cutting a base pocket at 250 RPM 2 IPM shoot me now!!!
Greg if you are going to be online bothering me you should have gone to work and got paid for it.
thank you all
Jody
What do you run your finish cutters at when finishing a mold base?
I get so mad the base guy slows my feeds and speeds down. I program to ruff the pocket +.015 then I program to finish the pocket with cutter comp so he can cut it closer with a crappier end mill then go and finish it with a good one. We use TIALN coated carbide and he runs a 3/4 end mill finishing a through pocket 1 3/8 thick at 625 RPM and 10 IPM. The finish looks like $hit.
We are running our year old haas VM3 like our 20 year old hurco that the haas replaced. At least that is what I feel.
thanks for listening to me complaining.

Jody
Kannon,
Thanks that is what I see also. I did not see your post when I ask the second question. I do now see what htm01 is saying and I think that is what the boss is looking for, how many hours the machine has worked. in the year that we have had it.
Thanks for the help htm01 and Kannon's dad

Ok I now have two monitors hooked up never go back to one.
Is there a way to lock Mastercam to a certain monitor and size?
I have a GeGorce FX 5600XT video card.
thank you
Jody
Thanks for informing us on the MR1 release.
But do you think that you can send a movie clip of the skating part with the MR1 release. That sounds funny and I think that should be bonus material.
Thank you
Jody
You can not have a default directory for the autosave. I thought that if I put c:jobsautosave.mcx that it would just put files that you have not save at all in to the default directory. Like if you open a STEP file and forget to save it right away.
Thank you spade117 and Greg for the phone support
Jody
Did the autosave change from the original X to SP1. I just in the last 2 weeks started to used X to make toolpaths with. but I have been looking and trying to learn the new layout since it came out.
I am sure that the original X would autosave in the directory that you are working in with the autosave name not over righting the actual file name. Now it does not do this.
So if you are working on C:jobs100100 cut b side.MCX
autosave would save as C:jobs100autosaveX.MCX
And if you are working on C:jobs200200 cut a side.MCX
autosave would save as C:jobs200autosaveX.MCX
Did that work like that before or is my CRS disease kicking in.
Thank you
Jody
