  1. quote: I'm holding up one finger, guess which one? Ah, come on now Rek'd. You are more than welcome to ride it if you ever get up this way. Besides, I may not be able to afford it once it gets here.
  2. Actually, Ducati is struggling with their new bike in the GP class this year. But, it is only their second season. In World Superbike, well that's another story, and a long one at that. Some would say rules are written in favor of Ducati. But, actually they just build a bike totally suited to the rules. Blah blah blah
  3. Ducati 996 here. (Pronounced, "Superbike" just like Rek'd's TL). I am immune to the "rice rocket" tag by buying European. Although, I have to strongly agree with the big thumping v-twin thing, I did just put money down for a road version of the Desmocedici that will come out next year (v-4 motogp bike). Don't think I could ever own a Harley. The tooling has been paid off for years now but why won't the prices come down? It's just a market driven thing I guess. But then, why are there more of them for sale in the paper every day than all the other bikes combined?
  4. I am going to be building a new computer in the next couple of days. Does anyone know if Version X will operate on the 64 bit platform? The processors seem to be great but with no software out right now that will maximize the 64 bit structure it is pretty much a waste of money since they really don't run any faster on the 32 bit level. Any comments? Suggestions? Warnings? Thanks gang.
  5. ...illuminating my computer pharm as I netboot my 27 boxen (again). The CPU fans droning that familiar tone....
  6. Warning! This one is bad. Video This one is mostly squids. The last one is bad, too.
  7. Just read MR0304.doc. Am downloading right now.
  8. Onboard warm-up lap of the Phakisa Freeway circuit in Welkom, South Africa. Just a teaser for the race this weekend. Vid
  9. Need more, Toolfab?!? Race 1 from Welkom South Africa April 18 on Speed Channel. Gonna be an awesome season. Check out this movie if it comes to your town. Watch the trailer here
  10. again Ok guys I am bored today. I have been downloading last years races to burn them on DVD tonight. With the new season starting next Sunday, I thought I would share a few small ones you can watch and get your blood pumping a bit. Last year was "two wheels, 200 MPH" this year looks to be the best to date. With all the leaps in the off season it is gonna be "two wheels, 220 MPH" Each is about 2 minutes long. Hope you enjoy them. Part1 Part 2 Onboard camera 1 Onboard camera 2 GO DUCATI!! [ 04-09-2004, 02:21 PM: Message edited by: Moto GP ]
  11. It takes all kinds... web page Here is a list of commands for the chicken. It's a "complete" list, so be warned. Besides, I am sure "some" of you would have typed in some of these commands already... commands Man I am bored today.
  12. I think we are up to part 3 now. I know I don't pipe in much. But, I lurk in the shadows and read just about everything that is posted. Here is my story. I will be leaving my current employer at the end of the month and moving back to the city (My commute will be about 15 paces from the house). I am attempting to get my own thing going. I have a shop with all the equipment I need except CNC (still looking for that great buy). I have a couple contracts lined up so far. My current employer wants to keep me on the payroll (albeit a lesser amount) to retain my services as a sales associate with a base salary plus commission. An ultrasonics company wants me to design tooling for them, a mold steel supplier wants me to rep for them in the 3 local states, and my reseller wants me to be a technical associate for the Mastercam users in the city I will be living (one customer is running 15 seats). Hopefully, I will be able to fit my goal of contract programming in somewhere. I am not sure how this is going to work out, yet. I will be puchasing Mastercam in the very near future. I am tentatively scheduled to fly out and spend some time with my reseller for some specific training. However, I am not sure how soon this is all going to come together. I value the members of this forum. Therefore, I would like to ask your permission to stick around the forum even though I will not really be a Mastercam owner/user for a while.
  13. Thanks gang! I think my preference so far is RobK's suggestion. Once I got it configured the way I wanted it. Works great, especially having the option to grab only what I want. Plus, it was free!
  14. I was wondering what others were using to capture .JPG images of geometry in Mastercam. I used to use Corel and just do a screen capture. However since I have upgraded my computer and the boss lost my Corel CD........ Thanks in advance.
  15. Apparently this guy was holding a couple people hostage in Spain. He let them go in exchange for a get-away motorcycle. Appears to be a Yamaha R6. It was all caught on video, I saw it on a couple of different newscast last night. He was riding away, when all the sudden Spanish police pulled an un-marked car right out in front of him. He nailed the car and did two complete summersaults before slamming back down on the road. It happened so fast. Pretty dramatic stuff. I can't believe in this day and age they showed it. All I thought about was, this is why you wear a helmet on the street. Couldn't tell if they gave him one or not. They say it was because of that terrorist train bombing over there that the police had zero tolerance for anything. View here
  16. "DISCLAIMER" You know, I love animals...probably more than people, even. In fact, I'd say that I can think of more people that should be 'put down' than animals. However...that was pretty funny. I've always felt like my truck needed to defend itself from the cats that seem to like walking all over it. Don't get me wrong guys. I don't wish to offend anyone. If it were real, I would be upset. But, knowing it is not real.... Glad everyone so far has enjoyed it.

  20. President Bush Lied ??-----Really? If you really believe that President Bush lied - - There never were any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and he took us to war solely for his oil buddies. --then read this and, if you are the fair-minded person that I believe you to be--, Pass it on. "One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998 "If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998 "Iraq is a long way from USA but, what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998 "He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983." Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998 "We urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S.Constitution and Laws, to take necessary actions, (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others on Oct. 9, 1998 "Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998 "Hussein has .. chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies." Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999 "There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has invigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue a pace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies." Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, December 5, 2001 "We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandates of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them." Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002 "We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 "Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002 "The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..." Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002 "I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002 "There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction." Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002 "He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do" Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002 "In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002 "We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction." Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002 "Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime. He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction. So, the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ..." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan.23.2003 Now the Democrats say that President Bush lied. That there never were any weapons of mass destruction and he took us to war for his oil buddies? Talk about two-tongued philosophy
  21. Excellent point Harryman! In all my job hopping I have found that a change of scenery usually only means a change of dysfunction. Those things that you may be unhappy with now will only be traded for other things that you will be unhappy with. There are no perfect workplaces as you know. Are you willing to compromise your future for the desire of the moment? Look at what you have now and have to gain where you are. Then look at the potential of the new place. And for Heaven's sake get the offer in writing. Whatever they are willing to offer they should be willing to offer on paper.
  22. Yeah, Kerry is here alright. Gonna be fun here if he wins. I live in a community of 14,000 claimed residents. A large portion of which are the high and mighty crowd. Bruce Willis, Demi, Arnold (up until the election) Kerry/Heinz, Wrigley, to name a few. We have a herd of Secret service agents lurking everywhere now. Since they have not officially declared this as their second home, there will be no government subsidies to pay for all the additional security. Hence, the 10,000 full time residents will be footing the bill. This place doesn't have the infrastructure for this. Plus, with one road leading in and out of here, all the side roads are closed but still you must make way for the motorcade that will transport them 60 miles to the Twin Falls airport since our airport can handle no plane over a G-5. Gonna be especially fun if both he and Arnold are here at the same time (would be like when Vincent Fox and Dick Cheney were here at last years Allen & Co. Conference). Not gonna mention how much fun it was to be up skiing when he was on the hill with his entorage clearing the hill for him. That's my sad tale of woe for the day. Me runs off to sulk in the corner.
