  1. You're welcome Rekd. There are plenty more where those came from. This one should answer ChrisM's request: [ 01-28-2004, 08:44 PM: Message edited by: Moto GP ]
  2. To answer Iskander's request: Sorry for so many but, this is how my week has been:
  3. Thanks Chris! That's perfect. I really appreciate this. Hopefully, someday I can return the favor. Cheers!
  4. This is my stagetool line code: stagetool : 1 #0 = Do not pre-stage tools, 1 = Stage tools Am I being a bonehead here? Wait don't answer that. But, is it not already set as you said? Thanks again. I don't mean to be a pain. [ 01-28-2004, 05:19 PM: Message edited by: Moto GP ]

  6. Could someone steer me in the right direction, please. My main machine is an Okuma MX45VAE with an OSP7000M controller. My post is a standard one that my reseller modified just a little for me. There are a couple of mods I would like to make however. Nothing crucial, just minor annoyances. Let me say first that I know nothing about post processors as to how to write/edit them. I have asked my reseller about the CD for learning how to write/edit them that has been spoken of here on the forum. But, they said they know nothing about it. So anyway, here are my questions. First I would like to change how it calls my coolant on. It like to turn it on in the same line it calls up tool lenght offset. I would like to have it come up on the first -Z feed. Sencondly, I would like to be able to call my next tool to the ready station immediately after a tool change. That way I wouldnt be waiting for the magazine to index on a toolchange thus saving cycle time. So instead of being say T1M6 my T1 command would have happened somewhere after the preceeding tool was changed. Then I would just have M6. Thanks in advance.

    WCS

We have just recently upgraded to 9.1sp2. I have finally been able to start playing with it enough to learn the new features. I would like to say "Thank You" to whoever it was that decided to include the WCS feature. This makes my job sooo much easier. I was hesitant to spend the money to upgrade until the maintenance thing came out (I figured there was still a lot of money to be made on 8.1.1). The WCS alone made the money spent worthwhile. Good on ya, mates! [ 01-28-2004, 01:50 PM: Message edited by: Moto GP ]
  8. Thanks! NC file path has been changed.
  9. We recently updated to V9.1 from 8.1.1. I have forgotten how to configure a few things and was wondering if anyone could help. First is in verify. How do you change the view to be Isometric by default and fit to screen. Every time it comes up in a top view and is zoomed way in. Second is the path for NC files. I would like to change the default directory to c:nc for the post to write to instead of the longwinded c:mcam9millnc. Thanks
  10. G95 on my Okumas means inches per revolution feedrate. In that case, yes the F value would be the pitch (.0625 for 16 tpi). The nice thing here is not having to calculate the feedrate again when increasing spindle speed. Make sure you use G94 after the tapping cycle to go back to inches per minute feedrate on your next operation. I haven't been around any other machines for a while. So, this could be a pointless reply on my part. I also would use about 1500 RPM. [ 01-27-2004, 01:01 PM: Message edited by: Moto GP ]
  11. quote: God speed good Captain. I agree! Childhood would not have been the same without him. Funny you should mention Underdog, Mighty Mouse, and Hong Kong Phooey! Every Christmas for the last several years my sister buys me videos of shows we watched when we were kids. I have both of these now. As well as all the Speed Racer. I am with you James. If the Muppets were still on, I would be watching, too.
  12. It seems TV programming really stinks this time of year. What is a person to do with only the Superbowl left, and still 5 weeks until Superbike season begins. (Now I am 1 post closer to an avatar) [ 01-21-2004, 04:57 PM: Message edited by: Moto GP ]
  13. Here is a pretty good review with benchmarking. Review Also, If you are looking at buying any Pentium stuff, you might want to wait a couple more weeks. Intel is going to drastically reduce the prices on February 1, 2004 for all their Pentium 4 processors to make way for the new Prescott processors.
  14. Good question Millman! I never thought of that. Unfortunately, when I checked it out my background color is black, system origin color is red.
  15. The F9 key should be assigned by default as the display origins command. I have not changed anything, it just doesn't want to work today. Was working yesterday. The part is oriented around the origin and is so it should be visible. I translated the drawing from the centerline to the origin when I first opened it up.
  16. Anyone have any Ideas? All the other hotkeys seem to be working.
  17. Sorry Heavycut, I have never been fortunate enough to run a turning center. I wish I could help you out with it. By the way, where in the "good old west" are you? [ 01-20-2004, 02:45 PM: Message edited by: Moto GP ]
  18. Mine used to do the same thing. I have one that I would be more than happy to send it to you and let you try it out. It is for the OSP7000. Let me know if you would like it. [ 01-20-2004, 01:24 PM: Message edited by: Moto GP ]
  19. I looked into the Direct TV satelite thing. Sounded like a great plan up until they gave me the price for all the extra equipment. Need a stand alone dish for the service plus all the decoding equipment blah blah blah. Was $750 worth of stuff before I could even think about connecting. Then the monthly charge of $35.00. At least that is what it runs up here in the middle of nowhere. The cost coupled with the problem of snow filling up the dish all the time told me that cable was the way to go.
  20. Personally, I just hope we will be lucky enough to have a knock down drag out that preferably goes to overtime. I like them both and think they both deserve to be there. Not that you needed my input. But, what the heck, everyone is entitled to my opinion. Plus, it gets me one post closer to an avatar! [ 01-19-2004, 07:07 PM: Message edited by: Moto GP ]
  21. Exceptional hard drive deal - WD 80 GB w/ 8MB cache for $40! I thought I'd post it for the good of the group. $50 in mail-in rebates and a $20 instant rebate make a truly excellent drive downright cheap. If you're even thinking about a HD upgrade at some point, this is definitely worth a look: Hard Drive Maybe it's just me, but this has RAID written all over it.
  22. To be fashionable these days I believe the name has been changed to Mulet (pronounced moo-lay) I believe it is of French origin. So, I am sure that the only ones that are wearing them are part of the "In" scene. By the way, they aren't wearing torn Levi's are they? I was surfing the web one day and stumbled across a web page dedicated to hunting them. I can't remember what it was called. Someday I will find it again. Maybe somewone here knows. Anyway, it was two kids that would go around and "hunt" them. One would sneak up behind one with scissors and cut it off while the other captured the chop and ensuing chase on video. It was pretty funny.
  23. Most everything I have built has been from scratch. I have a box around here with prints in it from different models that I studied while learning. I will check to see if I have any for you. Have to dig it out of the garage so I will look in the morning and get back to you.
  24. Thanks for the emails and phone calls gang! We will be in touch with those of you that we haven't already spoken with soon. Some pretty impressive folks here on this forum!
