  2. I had ,emphasis on had, the same problem. Thanks, Camdude. After a little searching in the forum history I found my answer. I work strictly off of a server. Not only that. The building I work in is about a 1/4 mile from the main building where the server is. No local disk work here. File/Get was crawling. Now it takes less than 2 seconds. But, when you set to Windows standard you lose the option on File/Get to use the Recent Files when you right click in folder window. I wanted to revive this thread so others could read it too. You guys are awesome. Every last one of you. [ 01-07-2004, 10:59 PM: Message edited by: Rookie 1 ]
  3. quote: is it the time taken to run verify...This is what I think it is. But, why is it carried out to 3 decimal places?
  4. James, you get an atta boy. Right on.
  5. Jimmy, quote: Do you guys have an operation name that A} Has spaces or other non dos filename character? B} Is the opnaame more than eight characters? A} resonse is No. I use single name descrip. when this has happened. B} response is no also. ------------------------------------------------- John, quote: What communication software are you using...CIMCO DNC Max. It has done an excellent job. quote: ...and what are your settingsI will have to get an answer on this one. I will put these in with my MC9/EIA files email. If that is OK? Thanks, The Rook
  6. We use the standard MC9 Box Font on everything. Every part we do gets a part # and logo. I have experienced that the #3 crashes in verify just about everytime(posts fine though) and the dash has a smaller dash inside of it.
  7. John, I will be most happy to send you a few files. I am on 2nd shift and will not be able to send til Monday evening 01.05.04 . But, I can not access the FTP. Can I email you instead?
  8. I just worked 12 1/2 hours doing inventory at work. I'm tired. But, boy what a paycheck.
  9. quote: ...no hard feelings here.Ditto. quote: I ask this question when you get a neighbor or a co-worker that does things a little off the wall do you just go move to a different place or go get a different job? No sir. Mayhap I can learn something from that person. Or it lets me know that I am the one doing it all wrong. Or maybe that can be a thought provoking experience to show me that there is another way or maybe not another way to do things. Back to subject-I feel the same way Jimmy does. Leave like it is to enhnace the possible searches. Becauase, I have seen where an O/T turned into a hot topic about MC.
  10. Millman,I sincerely apologize. I did not mean for anyone to take it personal. My crosshairs were not on anyone. The last thing I want to do is to offend one of you guys and get blacklisted by you or any one else. As the name implies, I am a rookie at 'gramming and I need yours, along with everyone elses help on this forum to better myself at what I do. I have learned a ship load of twists and tricks since I started reading/posting on this forum. Sometimes, I read what you guys do in MC and my first reaction is, out and out awe. I do highly value your input, Millman. Your are a credit to this forum. ------------------------------------------------- I do understand about disabilities. My oldest son has Cerebral Palsy. Please clarify. When? Sincerely,

  12. This is a great way to convert from metric to English. Here is what I did. Just do a File/Merge using an english config. Grab the metric part to open. A dialog box pops up to ask if I want to convert to English dims or leave it alone. Yes, convert to English. Bada Boom! Bada Bing! It's converted to English and I'm off an runnin' tool path'n. This might be old news but I thought it was way cool. Mastercam, I love it!!! [ 01-03-2004, 10:09 PM: Message edited by: Rookie 1 ]
  13. I heard a story that a Klu Klux Klansman at a rally shot in the air and the bullet came directly back down and killed him instantly. Can't remember the source of the story, sorry.

  16. Good mornin' from Georgia Mr. Meyette. Yes, I'm still at work.
  17. The files ( MC9 Lathe and an STL for said MC9 file ) are files for an Integrex. quote: After performing a tool path. Any ol' tool path'l do. I find that my tool path groups are gone, except the first one and the tool paths that were in those groups are joined to the first one. This usually happens after backplotting and returning to the Ops Man. And if you ask me to, I can't create this problem at will. It is sporadic.I know that I recreated the problem one time. I created a tool path that gave me an error. The error said " Error in creating Tool path". To which I had to escape back to the Ops manager. When I went back to the Ops. man., I found that the TP's in the 2nd tool group were put into the 1st tool group and the 2nd tool group was gone. The question is:What is causin' the tool group(s) to disappear and the tool paths in those missin' groups to retreat to the 1st tool group? Also, the first tool group is renamed in this quirk back the default name of "Toolpath Group 1". I don't know what is causing this. Thank you very much Jay for your help. Rookie 1 teh livin' up to the ending post statement of Save it early! Save it often!
  18. quote: Chris' management finally wised up and filled up that machine with concrete and the boss is going to use it with a boat anchor maybe??? quote: MAZAK ROCKS! Not I admit that the 'Grex is a little quirky to program sometimes. But, when you can take a part and in 1 operation ( main and sub spindle ) machine it complete, compared to 5 or 6 Ops in a mill, now that kicks some serious BOOTY! quote: Some 10 year old in China is using one of these things, on a wooden floor, and she's kicking our xxxx at it. Bring her on I say! Bring her on! Rookie 1 teh doin' it 'Grex style!
  19. ROFL! ROFL! I about spewed my lunch on the LCD.
  20. Happened again. This time it was after I got an error that said that there was an error creating the tool path. I went back into the Ops manager and everything was combined and in need of regen. Bueller? Pause. Bueller? Pause. Bueller? Fade from scene.
  21. In Lathe I have experienced a tiny problem. After performing a tool path. Any ol' tool path'l do. I find that my tool path groups are gone, except the first one and the tool paths that were in those groups are joined to the first one. This usually happens after backplotting and returning to the Ops Man. And if you ask me to, I can't create this problem at will. It is sporadic. Now, that is not so much a hassle. But, I'm working on gramming an Integrex and I like to keep my Main spindle paths separate from my sub spindle paths. Any takers??? Sorry, can't upload to the FTP yet. The Net. Admin. is workin' on it.BTW. This problem seems only to be happening wile gramming the Grex. Please, don't direct me to the bottom of my post. I know. I know. Alt A. Alt A.
  22. quote: I tried it. In your drilling parameters if you select tip comp and make the breakthru 0 and the tip angle 0 it looks like what you want it to look like in verify.Thank you, Nom. quote: This has been covered before. Read more about itThank you, Thad. Once again you guys prove that this forum RAWKS and that everyone here has a spirit of friendship and cooperation. Rookie 1 teh humbled.
