  1. quote: we use cimco dnc max, no problem with the fanucs but we do have some issues with mazatrol......We finally got the issues worked out with Cimco to Mazatrol. Sorry, being on 2nd shift, I don't know how they remedied the situation. With it being my responsibility in the company to save all files back to the server from the machines. I have found that there is sometimes a program or 2 programs piggybacking another program. Is there anyone who has seen the piggybacking with Cimco DNC Max? Rookie 1 teh piggy killer!!
  2. There is a mood swing that some women go thru each month. It is called PMS. Do you know why it is called PMS? Because the term Mad Cow Disease was already taken.

  9. Oh yeah, the face mill runs B4 this tool. So, Z origin is 0.000000000000.
  10. Jeremy, I have the Z origin set at .02 in job setup.
  11. I am drilling (G72) with a 12mm ball end mill to create a .275 diameter surface dimple which comes out to .0441 deep. Retract set to .05 / Top of stock is 0.000. Problem: Backplotting-The tool is acting like it is set from center of the ball radius. Which looks like it rapids into the part. Then it travels to Z-0.0441 deep. The tool in backplot never leaves the part. It just rapids thru it. Verify-Here it does the same thing. It travels thru the part. But, here it does cause a collision but it posts out O.K. code: N12 T7 M6 N13 ( 12 MM CARBIDE BALL END MILL ) N14 ( CREATE SURFACE DIMPLES ) N15 G0 G90 S2500 M3 E1 X6.9882 Y-.5906 N16 H7 Z.05 M8 N17 G82 G99 Z-.0442 R0.05 P250. F5. N18 X4.2323 N19 X1.4764 N20 G80 N21 M5 M9 N22 G49 Z0. N23 E0 X0 Y0 N24 M2 My beef/question: Why doen't the ball end mill stop at the tip of the radius .05 from the part like a regular drill would do? Is it me? Rookie 1 teh stumped.

  15. It was '90 and I knew I had to do something with my my life. Going to apply at Chattanooga State I had no idea what the machinists trade was all about. I didn't know a lathe from a mill. That did not slow me down though. Upon graduating I got a job in a little hole in the wall shop making parts for wreckers and garbage trucks. Going from there to a job of machining/fabricating vacuum corrugators. After that I went to an aerospace shop where I was introduced to MC 8.1.1. I did not work as full time peogrammer there but I did get a good knowledge base founded. From there I went back to vacuum corrugators and then that company a year after my return went belly up. Out of work for a week I found (providentially) the shop I work at now. The shop had MC V9 when I started. For a couple of days one week the full time programmer had to be at cadcam school so the VP who, by my resume, knew I had MC training asked me to fill on for him. The owner, DD saw my work and immediately told the VP to get me in cadcam school asap. He said that I was to be the next programmer. So, from there on I was moved to 2nd shift to be full time programmer behind 1st shift. I do not regret being moved to 2nd. It has forced me to, when I come across a problem, to dig for the answer/solution on my own which has helped me to learn ammensely. --------------------------------------------- Do I love my MasterCam? I do! I do! Sam-I-am.
  16. Thanks for the shoutcast Bullines. Had it on '80s all night. James, YOU RAWK, DUDE!
  17. Good morning, I don't if you guys are like me but I have a good setup here at work. I work from 4 in the afternoon til 2 in the morning for 4 days a week and the building I work is disattached from the manufacturing building. So, from about 6PM on it is just me til 2AM and all I have is the Internet radio to keep me company when I'm not hoofin' it down to the shop floor to check on things. What I am looking for is some good Internet radio stations that I can listen to while I work. Here are my favorites- Classical- www.wsmc.org For you classical enthusiasts this is an excellent station. This is a local station here. Christian- www.air1.com http://thexstation.com/ http://waym.wayfm.com/ www.klove.com Thanks a bunch. Rookie 1 teh I ain't got nobody to talk to.

  19. What type of work do you do? We basically do a lot of job shop work. But, being located near the carpet capitol of the world we handle loads of carpet mill type work. What type of programming do you do? 2d, Surfacing, turning, wire and 5 axis. Do you run the machines also? No. Not since they moved me to programmer. And boy, do I love this position. How many machines do you keep going? 11. 2 Fadals VMC 4 Hyundai lathes 1 Mazak Nexus VMC 1 Mazak Integrex 5 axis 3 Charmilles Wire EDMs PEACE
  20. Finally, a chance to reply. I switched to a CRT and that did not help. I'm going to get teh Network admin. to check and install teh latest drivers. Still kind of leary about installing drivers myself. Don't know much about it. Thanks for your input. When I get this problem fixed I will reply again to this thread. This forum "RAWKS"!
  21. Howdy all, Teh trouble I am having is when I move my cursor across the prompt and menu tabs on teh right side of teh screen it leaves white blotches that do not go away. Also, when I auto highlight an entity, part of it will stay white until I repaint. I can fix these problems by choking down teh hardware acc. to 1 notch above completely turned off. But then I can't use teh smokin' power of my video card. Right now I am 1 notch below full accel. At full accel. this problem is cured, but a more serious problem arises. There are black, vertical lines running thru teh boxes such as teh box in drill tip comp. that make impossible to see. Ruuning XP Pro, Veiwsonic VE175b Flat screen, 768 mg ram, 2.4 gig proccessor with a 3dlabs Wildcat VP870 128 meg video card. Thanx for any input. Rookie1 teh hardware challeged.
