Best option for sorting drill points that have no fixed pattern (I have to drill and tap 50-250 M3 holes in all off our components). The drill point sort option never seems to take the shortest route.
Does anyone know how the points are sorted?
Some other software that I have used seemed a lot more tidy and efficient.
Cheers

Help, any tips, ideas, settigs would be greatly appreciated
When pocketing a resonable complex shape with
multiple islands , the tool often back tracks over areas that have already been machined to get to un machined areas, which at the end of the day is cycle time. As some of our production runs are around 500-5,000 we need to save those minutes - seconds.

Thats the first part solved.
Now that I have edited the toolpath as geometry, can I turn it back into a toolpath?
(ie-something I can post-prosess )
Hope this is more clear,my American isn't to good.
Is there a way of turning toolpaths into geometry (edit path ect with drawing editor) and then return geometry back to toolpaths.
I know the first step can be done but can not
remember how I fluked it last time I tryed.
Cheers Greg

The CMM is a Giddings & Lewis model D12
We are running it using Measuremax software
on a PC . We do have offline programming soft
ware, but find it far to time consuming & complicated for the Cmm operator to use.
Anything off help would be much appreciated.
