  1. Stan, you get the CD from your dealer.
  2. 5AX, there is one patch after MR0304. Not related to translators. MR0304 stands for 'Maintenance Release March 2004'. The Pro/E Wildfire 2 has a release date of May '04. So MR0304 definetely will not read WF2.
  3. chip, sorry about the late reply, your email took a while, over 4.5mb of file attachments. Had to head home for dinner. 14 hours days are enough. From the BMP you sent me, I can see you are not on V9.1Sp2 or V9.1MR0304. The patches for the translators and the 5-28-04 direct are for those versions only. Do a full install of the V9.1Sp2 and re-do the patches and direct. Or install MR0304 and do the 5-28-04 Direct. Bradst, yes the direct works for most files but somethings just don't come across with the history. Worst case, just bring it in as a featureless brick. When you have files that don't come across with the history, and you think it should have, send a copy to your dealer and/or [email protected], I'm sure they would be very interested in seeing the issues.
  4. Chip, do you have Maintenance? Then you just need to put in the MR0304 CD If not, then go here: http://www.mastercam.com/Support/downloads/default.asp and install all the translator patches starting with the December and work your way up thru the January patch.
  5. The latest SW converter patches or the MR0304 Maintenance release support SW2004. Your MC system must be Win2K or XP, because SW2004 doesn't support anything earlier.
  6. bradst, are you using the latest, 5-28-04, MC-SW Direct?
  7. the current Pro/E direct doesn't support Wildfire 2. CNC has the new translator built but it needs to be tested prior to release. We should hear something very soon.
  8. MD, go to 'Tools-Add-ins..' in SW and turn on the MCDirect.
  9. Well I'm sure CNC will copy it as soon as they can.
  10. just so everyone knows, Version X will have a fully customizable Right-Mouse-Button. So Bryan's getting you ready for using X
  11. Don, so A is the tilt (around X) and B is the rotary? Is B considered to be rotary around Y? Or Z? When A is at A0, the B table face is perpendicular to Y or Z?
  12. You are saying that the Mill paths are coming out correct? Are you getting a 'C' rotary move so that the holes would be along Y? Under the 'misc values', you can bias the rotary.
  13. A different directory structure on the new PC will definitely be a problem with the old CFG file. You can open the CFG in a text editor, CIMCO, and hand edit all the pathes listed in the CFG. Still could be a problem using the old CFG.
  14. there is no VX, that is a competitive product! It is Mastercam X or Version X.
  15. Right click the file in windows explorer and select 'Open with...'. You can the pick MC Mill and tell to always use that.
  16. Millman, I'm not saying it is 15% per version. Maintenance is not a percentage, but it works out to about 10%. It is 15% to upgrade up one version, plus 5% for each additional version. So Version 7 to Mastercam X with no Maintenance would be 25%. Mastercam ran specials on updating with Maintenance in the 4th quarter 2003 and a slightly less attractive special in 1st quarter 2004. For people who took advantage of these, it was a great cost savings. For those that didn't, it is time to pay. The guy running V7 hasn't put any money into his software for 5 to 7 years. So if he waits for X, it is still only like paying 5% a year. This is to have the best CAD/CAM producted in the WORLD !!! 5% a year, I say he has nothing to complain about.
  17. Mick and everyone, 1) Maintenance is available now and forever. 2) If you are on an older version, (Today that would be V8. When Version X comes out then that would be V9), you must get updated to current before you can buy Maintenance. So, to summerize, if you are on V9, buy maintenance now and you will get Version X and beyond. If you are not on Maintenance when X comes out, then you will have to update to X and then buy Maintenance at that point if you want. If you are on V8 and you wait until X, then you will need to pay to step from 8 to 9 then to X. You can update now to V9 and get maintenance, so you also get X. I guess what I'm trying to say in this long winded post is that no matter what, it is CHEAPER to be on Maintenance BUT you can always update thru the versions, get the current version and get maintenance if you wish. Sorry for the long one.
  18. Dave, check the scase_tl_c2 variable in your post. Post ships like this: scase_tl_c2 11000012.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Right Face cut Should be: scase_tl_c2 10000012.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Right Face cut That second digit flags whether to reverse spindle, the 1 meaning yes, so we set it to 0 and all should be well.
  19. I've used the Rhino file type into MC a few times and it has worked fine.
  20. Lou, go to Screen-Configure-NC Settings and you will find a button for Tool display. Set tool display to Run-Animated-Endpoints
  21. 9.13 was a version of the posting system. You see that on the bottom prompt line when you post and I think when you start Mastercam.
  22. Basically side menu moves to a top/dropdown menu.
