the upgrade to the cimco editor does have 'scaling', along with tool path backplot. you can contact your MC dealer or buy it direct from cimco. www.cimco-integration.com

i would use the cimco editor. it comes free with your mastercam and works much better then the mc communicate. i haven't used the mc communicate since v7. you can set the default editor and communication in mc. goto 'screen-configure-start/exit' and set the editor and communications to CIMCO.

the 'upgrade' is a bad idea. driver files from ME would still be there instead of the Pro ones. also ATI video cards have historicly been a problem.

the best way i know of getting ideas to mastercam is the STEP converter. it is also currently on sale for 1/2 price.

you can also read about chooks in the Online Mastercam Help. Just pick the question mark on your icon bar and search for chooks.

select the ops to change, right click and select Options-Edit common parameters.

roger, are you saying that 4 is your longest tool in this example and you would like the post to find the longest tool in the model and use that number?

more than likely the problem is in your post. did you try the mpmaster.pst or the mpfan.pst that ships with v9? they both use the workofs variable to drive the G54 offsets. -
if you don't put the variables in or set them to zero: error_msg : 0 err_file : 0 you will only get a .err file if there is a error.

when doing rotary work and creating tplanes/cplanes with the cplane rotate, you want to hit the alt-F9 shortcut key to check that the X-axis is running the correct direction.

the 'demo' version of CIMCO will update the Mastercam OEM version or Update a stand-alone version or run as a full blown 30 day demo.

oh yea. also have had bad reports of XP home. we use XP Pro and it works great. for your info, we use leadtek geforce2 or 3 or 4 cards. -

we have always had problems with ATI cards. make sure you have the latest drivers. -
