  1. quote: I just got a check from them. Payoff check to avoid a class action lawsuit by a part-time instructor who wanted to be paid OT ... I had no OT so it was a no-brainer for me to op out of the suit ... thus I got a check too. quote: Apparently it was in vain. Nothing is in vain when you do it from your heart ... Thanks for the files ... may be outdated, but most of the info is great and the format will do perfectly ... I will update the ppt to X4 and use your outline ... Thanks again
  2. I did find some files under the folder "robstuff" and "James Post Work" Under robstuff there were two files: 1 surface wireframerpd.mc8 pocketblock.mc8 under James Post Work one file: Post_Work.mc8 So, not everything was lost ... James, Rob, and Jay, I will take anything you can offer ... hate reinventing the wheel ... Thanks
  3. PS ... I will be using the info from mastercam.com on "Questions" ... it is a good starting point ... Also, using mpmaster.pst to explain SOME of the ways a post works ... Hope this will do for now ...
  4. quote: All that work we did for them James, And they just lost it!!! OR ... they don't believe in sharing ... I did make copies of files from their computers, but nothing is coherant ... I sifted thru and found that most stuff is "personal" stuff ... none of the instructors uses the tutorials ... I do because 98% of the students are NOT programmers, but "wantabes" ... "If they don't use it, they will loose it." So, by using the book, and supplementing the lessons, the studants have a point of reference to refer to WHEN they start to really program. I believe it is one thing to KNOW what to do, and another thing to KNOW where to find the answers. Anyway, the Advance students all, I mean ALL, said they were disappointed the the previous instructors ... I am working with the NEW manager to bring back quality instructions and material. Time will tell ...
  5. James, They have nothing ... i started the last class from scratch ... two more sessions left then starting again 9/12 ... What ever you have still, please email it to me ... i am off today, at home, writing the lesson plan ...
  6. Thanks ... but ended up doing this: code: #Feedrate inverse calculation ipr_type = two prv_feed = c9k #Always force feed if cuttype = three, cldelta = sqrt((x$-prv_x$)^2+(y$-prv_y$)^2+(z$-prv_z$)^2) frinv = fr_pos$/cldelta if frinv > maxfrinv, frinv = maxfrinv #feed = frinv feed = 100 #feed = frinv feed = 100 Kinda hookie, but works ....
  7. me too ... maybe put it on FTP site
  8. Ron, check e-mail ... Is there no that taught a class on what a post does, editing or modifying existing posts, use of formulas, debugging, etc ... this class is an introductory class for novice ... don't have to have a lot of details ... that they can get from the CD's on post development or inquire here on eMastercam ... thanks
  9. If no one has one, I will give you a copy of what I did ...
  10. I am putting together information to teach my Advance Mastercam class at NTMA this Sat on MC posts introduction ... does anyone have a documention that is already put together for instructing one class ... about 3-4 hrs? I am in the process of doing this, but it someone has already done this, it would be great ... Need to be really simple ... it is not a class of writing a post, but simple getting the students aware of the operation of a post, some simple modifications, etc. Thanks
  11. Where in the post does it calculate the feed for the rotary axis? I want to FORCE the feed rate to F400.0 because that is just below the max feed on our machine ... Right now, code looks like this code: N50T3M6(1/4 BALL EM ) N60G0G90G54X.025Y-1.05A-14.036S6000M3 N70G43H3Z5.5937M8 N80Z1.6937 N90G1Y-1.Z1.6071F120. N100A74.036F1960.9 N110X.015Y1.A14.036F1262.5 N120A-74.036F1960.9 N130X.005Y-1.A-14.036F1262.5 N140A74.036F1960.9 N150X-.005Y1.A14.036F1262.5 N160A-74.036F1960.9 N170X-.015Y-1.A-14.036F1262.5

  16. This may sound silly, but ... I changed my font option in the Operation Manager, but was wondering if there is a way to BOLD the "Toolpath Group" and not the rest of the text?
  17. I am trying to create an arc (not a line) that is tangent to two lines with the mid point of the arc thru a selected point ... that is ... create an arc by first select tangent to a line, then thru a point, and thirdly, tangent to another line In v9: Main Menu Create Arc Tangent 3 ent/pts pick first ine select "point entry" pick point pick second line

My target string is scoolant and not coolant$ I changed this: code: pbld, n$, "G43", *tlngno$, pfzout, scoolant, next_tool$, e$ to this: code: pbld, n$, "G43", *tlngno$, pfzout, pcoolanton, next_tool$, e$ What did I missed? PS I copied your blocks before "Motion NC Output" section

I can only get either M8 or M88 and M9 or M89, but not both code: # -------------------------------- # Coolant M code selection sm09 M9 #Coolant Off sm08 M8 #Coolant Flood sm08_1 M8 #Coolant Mist sm88 M88 #Coolant Tool sm89 M89 #Coolant Tool Off scoolant #Target for string fstrsel sm09 coolant$ scoolant 4 -1 # -------------------------------- Thanks
