  1. Thank you so much for you help. I really appreciate it. My work day is from 7am to 4pm. I left, picked up my kids from school and went home. The boss(my wife) got home at 630 and I jump back in the mini van and came back to work...Yep, thats where I am now. Gotta get this done or they will have a fit soon I was working on this issue and a verification email came through that my question was replied too. I will go over it now... That said, I have the transfer down but I cannot get the tools for the sub to go to position. I will attach the program maybe you or someone else could be so kind to help me get this into my thick skull. 1098.EIA
  2. I cannot get the tools set to machine the part on the sub spindle. I am using three dual station clamping units mounted in station 1, 6 and 12. the back tools or tools facing the sub are RH. I have them defined as T0131.02, T0636.02, AND T1242.02. I cannot get them to go to the sub spindle zero position. I have tried to use macro numbers. I have my part programmed in g code. I have 13 stations and unlimited offsets but for some reason it will not read the tools for the sub spindle. It reads fine for the main when I use T0101.01, T0606.01, and T1212.01 I have been programming using G53.5 Do I try to use a G54-G57 workshift for the sub? thanks for your help
  3. Ah I see. What follows is a description of the hills I've hit around my area. I imagine they do not compete with New England. Is there a mountain range out? Granite Peak Ski Resort is a ski area located in Rib Mountain State Park in the Town of Rib Mountain, Marathon County, Wisconsin, south of Wausau. It features 74 runs and 6 terrain parks as of 2011 and boasts a vertical drop of 700 feet (213 m). Granite Peak is the third tallest ski area in the Midwest, after Mount Bohemia (900 ft.) in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Lutsen Mountain (825 ft.) on Minnesota's north shore of Lake Superior. It is ten miles (16 km) north-northeast of Central Wisconsin Airport.
  4. Thank you so much. I will review it and try to understand to avoid future confusion. I feel like I am on repeat when I say this but it is true, I can't say how grateful I am for your help. Say where are you skiing at? I'm an average skier from Wisconsin. I usually get out about 3 to 5 times a year. The best one in this state ( i think ) is Granite Peak. Formerly Rib mountain. I try to go there. However if your from out west it probably pales in comparison. Hey thanks again I'll look at it now.
  5. I just got back to programming right now this morning and check on your reply. The past few days have been clogged with FAI and IN-process paper work I do apologize. Programming and building my skills and knowledge in that area are most important to me but those duties are very important to the job. Thank you So much I would very much appreciate it.
  6. No Sir, 2019 has a Tool Designer to used to define stp files downloaded from Sandvik and other tooling companies.
  7. I have been using Mastercams Tool Designer to set up Sandviks Coro turn tools I have downloaded in stp file form. I have successfully been defining all the turning and boring tools I have downloaded. Then I moved onto the grooving tools I needed and I cannot get it to cut right. It won't cut down to the proper floor diameter and it is offset. I have spent the day trying to get it to work. Is there anyone out there that is familiar with the tool designer that could help me out? Heck, even if your not and you are accomplished with Mastercam maybe you could help me out. I have attached a file. You can see that the CoroCut® 3 cutting unit for parting and grooving does not get to the proper depth and is also offset. Thanks very much fellows Be safe and have a good weekend. 208-0006_Cap3.mcam
  8. Thank you for the help Jeff. I will check it out.
  9. I want to use 3D tools in verify. The Tooling rep said that it is a more accurate representation when in verify. Could someone please help me with achieve this. If you have a library I could use or if you could show me what I am doing wrong, it would be great! I must be missing a step or something. You guys have been fantastic with help and guidance in the past, Please Help. Thank you .
  10. Great! thanks It worked. the groove seems a little off but thats probably some error by me. Bless you
  11. Hmm, I selected wireframe, curve slice, curve flowline, the dialog box came up I left it alone and then green check. Can you tell me if I am right so far. Also how do I create the line at the bottom? Do I have to find an Icon for "create Helix" ? Could you please possibly break it down step by step? Thanks so much.
  12. and the other one as well...alot of people out there don't get it.
  13. Yes Sir I know. I only responded to answer the other gentleman's reply to my question. I have to say I love you posted quote by Mr Lee
  14. HAha first I'd better say right off the bat, no it is not, but I sat here and chuckled for a good 5 seconds after reading (which when you think about it is a really long time). because on the shop floor they refer to it as exactly that type of device. Thank you I will attempt to do as you have instructed. Is it okay to come back with any questions?
  15. Hello everyone, Can someone please help me with the attached part. I am still stupid (learning) LOL Anyways, I need to machine a groove wound around a shaft diameter. I would appreciate any help at all but if possible could you explain in a rudimentary way. I would not want misunderstand. How can I create a line at the bottom of the groove in order to generate my tool path Should I use a lathe button tool or a 1/16 ball end mill. Is there anything else I am not thinking about. Thank you so much. This site and you guys are fantastic I am so happy I found it and became a member. MachineGroove.mcam
  16. Our company wants to began using Mastercam 2018 Lathe to program our Mazak Quick Turn Nexus 250-11 MSY . I feel I have to say that the Mazatrol floor guys are very upset so there will be no help from them and I do understand where they are coming from. I have never used a Mazak Lathe in G code or Mazatrol Yikes I know. Still the fact remains they want this done and I have to get it done. It is my job. That said, I have been machining since I was 19 years old and am 46 now. I am very excited to learn. It is programming! Tool geometry, speeds, and feeds they are all the same. Mastercam will handle the coding for me, right? I think my biggest challenge will be knowing how to get around on the machine controls to set up the workshifts and touch off the tools etc. If anyone out there could give me some advice or tell me where to find information on what to look for or expect I would be very grateful. If what I wondered about aloud above is crazy talk please also let me know. Thank you guys so much
  17. Would anyone out there know where I could download Files for a fixture mounting system. I have seen them used before. There is a base Plate with threaded holes and dowel holes alternating. Next there are mounting plates the can be quickly attached to the main base plate for quick and accurate setups. Usually a vise or fixture is mounted to the mounting plates. It would be great if anyone out there could help me out with this. I can't express how much i would appreciate it. We are so short handed here I am back on the floor doing most of the setups. If I could make it easier and quicker for the other less experienced operators I could spend more time improving our current programs and actually take the time to draw something like this myself. Thank you so much to whoever could give me some help with this. Gotta run to the floor now. Have a great day!
  18. Thanks so much, both of you for the guidance. I will try it right now.
  19. I have a double sided chamfer tool. I use the circle mill toolpath I select the top chamfer of the solid for the first toolpath then I went to the second side(bottom) of the hole and select that chamfer. No matter what only one point registers. I want to quickly buzz the top then rapid down and chamfer the backside so I do not have to flip the part. I sincerely thank anyone for any help they will give. It is probably something simple but these "simple" stumbling blocks waste me sooo much time. Thank you
  20. Hello everyone, does anyone know where i can find a IMCO tool library? We have recently switch to IMCO. I have to look up all the information and enter it manually. It takes forever. Please, if anyone can help I'd be grateful Thank you much!
