Typically, if you use the Auto Start Position. The implication is that you want to start at the Origin. I believe you should always create your start point(Thread Point) where you want to begin your cut. Even it is at the Origin. Tim

Oooops! Wire! Select your Thread/cut button on your lower left(secondary) menu. Place the Thread point in the position where you want to begin the cut. When you chain pick that thread point first. Then your profile. Tim

Troy From Main Menu; Toolpaths/Operations/ Expand the folder where your operation is. Right mouse click on the geometry icon. Right mouse click on the chain you want to change. Scroll through the menu and click on Start Point. This will take you back out to the graphics display. On your main menu you will have some choices. Move forward, move backward, etc. Go with it until you get what you want and done when you are finished. Tim

We had a guy want to reliscense a seat he bought at an auction it was a V8 level one mill he bought for over 5000 grand came with the pc. He was slightly bummed when he found out what a new V9 seat cost. He was working on getting his money back.

I installed MR0304 in a seperate directory, I didn't want to risk any problems. When you do the install in this manner, your shortcut icons on the desktop will be mapped to the MR0304 directory. But, you can still copy shortcuts from the original Mcam 9.

I question the validity of the complaint. There are always two sides to every story. Who knows maybe the guy on that forum is a whack job You hate to see anyone not get a response whether its a support issue or a sales issue. But, something seems a little bit strange..... An SGS sales rep up here in the northland gave me the tech-support number for a guy at SGS. His name is Doug and his number is 330-688-6667. This was about 3 to 4 yrs ago. I don't know whether the guy is still there or not. Most often, I tried to pry a tech support number of the manufacturer. I know the sales guy will tell you how to run the cutter, blah, blah, blah, but I call that the sales pitch information. Anyway give it a shot. Good Luck Tim -
You might want to take a look at the rolldie c-hook. This looks like this would be a good application for it. I will keep playing with it as well. Tim

Z Carbs are an SGS product line. So whoever in your area carries SGS Emills should have them. They can be a little pricey though. Especially the bigger sizes. Also, a good toolgrinder can recreate the geometry for resharpening. That will help with the cost of the cutter.

Yo Heavy, I have used these endmills alot in the past and I luv em. They seem to perform better in a stubby holder, anything extended and as you say the feeds and speeds are not quite right. Heavy coolant flood and chip evac is crucial. Overall I think they perform very well. Later Tim

Has anyone had an opportunity to explore the new Automatic Toolpathing? I am also curious if anyone has heard about a tutorial for this feature, other than the help file which was included with the install. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tim

I agree with James. Double back tape sometimes known as carpet tape works wonders on situations such as these.
