  1. DataFlute HSM series. Download catalog pdf at http://www.dataflute.com/catalogs.asp#dataflute page 18 cp
  2. http://www.carbidedepot.com/formulas-tap-helicoil.htm or epecially this link http://stripe.colorado.edu/~genovaj/helicoil.htm
  3. if yer talkin about 'Heli-Coil' brand, I seem to remember that they have their own custom taps which require a different tap drill. Methinks they give you the info on the hole size and tap required on the packaging of the inserts you buy. ( for a 4-48 thread , I seem to remember that the tap was a helicoil custom #3FPB )
  4. set up a new variable w/ the format you want then set that equal to whatever variable is giving you the P formatted, and use the new variable in lpeck cp
  5. There is a .ge3 to .mc9 converter script on the ftp site. It is /VB_Scripts/GE3_2_MC9.zip. It converts directories at a time. Launch from MC9 Worked well for me.
  6. A similar thing has happened to me before. It was caused by some entity accidentally placed somewhere near the vicinity of Jupiter. I zoomed in on the origin then deleted w/ window (all entities outside the window) and it fixed it. Has also happened w/ hidden or blanked entities. cp
  7. Does anyone know of an outfit that will repair / service a Mazak Laser Path 4080 laser ?? Yamazaki-Mazak made it in 1987 and the poor old beast won't come up all the way and our in-house expertise has moved on to greener pastures or retired. thanks in advance, cp
  8. If you want the M01 at every tool change then you could hard-code it in ptlchg$ if the same tool is doing different enough cuts then try hard-coding it in ptlchg0$ if you need a different trigger for the M01 you're gonna have to find the variable that you want and trigger the M01 output on that variable. I'm at home now so's I am w/o my resources cp
  9. Ditto what Rob said, lose the 1st % and have a space at the head of the file before the 'O' code. You may also want to set parameter 19 bit 6 to a zero so that the cnc will stop receiving programs only when it sees the % at the end of the file. Then all you have to do is press 'receive' on the control. It will read whatever program #'s you have coded and will read all of the programs in the file (main, subs, macros, etc)
  10. Anyone out there know how to to re-center the tool posts on a Nomura SN-160 swiss lathe ?? There are 4 stations on the slide and we have found adjustments for 3 of them. (2,3,and 4). We cannot seem to locate the stop for station 1. Machine sales tech support doesn't remember how to do it either. He's just pretty sure that the stop which isn't in one of the hydraulic cylinders is the stop for station four. He also remembers that they have to be adjusted in a certain order , but can't remember the order Parts diagram isn't of much help either. Anyone familiar w/ these machines ??? It is the first hassle we've had w/ our nomuras in 20 years. cp
  11. It really makes the filesize larger but you can drill the hole to tap drill size, create a 0 helix screw ( or is that 90 deg) put the screw in the hole you just drilled then subtract the screw (boolean diff) from the solid w/ the hole in it cp
  12. I have no problems w/ KeyCreator (former Cadkey). Easiest to draw solids in , then just export a parasolid to Mcam. cp
  13. did you update your cplane, tplane, and wcs ??
  14. Chris, No matter what you do you are still stuck w/ the least input increment of the machine (presumably .0001) If you have a little leeway on the centrality-symmetry tolerances you could make .0001 adjustments and get .0001 using two passes w/ 2 seperate offsets. then again, perhaps the creep feed machine or a machine w/ more precision than usual (.00001). cp
  15. How about an undersize slitting saw + 3 passes. 1 up the middle and 2 to widen to size w/ seperate offsets in the Z for each of the 2 finish passes (or , if available 1 or 2 custom macro variables to control the size) cp
  16. I do our verticals from the top , also the horizontals from the top (90 deg rotate to front, the other 90 deg rotation to the back w/ x axis sign reversed.) as long as the code is OK, stage left, stage right, potatos, potatoes. cp
  17. it has to be enabled on a page in the verify dialog. there is an icon on the opening verify dialog page. (kinda yellowish, i think) cp
  18. Sound poifect to me, I recon I should register soon
