  1. Simple flat surfaces will not trim to a curve in X since the service pack upgrade. Same geo saved as a Ver 9 file trims just fine. MC reps, any answers?
  2. "Try setting your construction plane to 3D" Don't you mean 2D?
  3. I've had similar problems including unblanking everything instead of just one level. Make sure you hit your "clear screen/color" icon before you do anything. It helps but still does not cure 100%
  4. I would try Surface-Finish-Shallow with a small step over and a ball nose tool. set the angle to about 30 degrees
  5. I get that message about 10% of the time when I start X. Seems random, can't find a common link to the problem.
  6. Is there an option somewhere that will leave surface/solid colors as is when untrimming or extending etc? Now they change to the default color.
  7. How do you do it in X? In 9 it was create, drafting, note, edit text, Y
  8. In version 9 you could override the default nubmer of points created on a spline. How do you do that in X?
  9. Sure am glad I'm not the only one haveing trouble with this funtion. It was so GD easy in 9
  10. Mr. Coulston, A: I did not ASK to be flamed. Narrow minded people on this board did that of their own free will. B: The level change procedure you outlined is exactly what I performed. As I stated in the begining, it not only copied the points I wanted but also several hundred surfaces from various turned off levels. That is what I would like an answer for.
  11. Lot of good this forum is. Try to talk about a frustrating bug and all you get is FLAMED!
  12. TRY TO COPY POINTS TO ANOTHER LEVEL AND IT COPIES EVERYTHING INCLUDING TURNED OFF LEVELS! Maybe I can talk management into Surfcam.
  13. X is doing strange stuff when we try to change levels. It randomly unblanks surfaces and wireframe and/or it changes levels of unselected stuff that may be on a level that is not even turned on. WTF are we (20 seats) doing wrong?
  14. You could create a 2-D wire frame program quite easily. What is your cutter size and type?
  15. How do we convert our MC9 tool library (on server) to version 10?
  16. I just hoe I get it before my 2005 MasterCam X calender runs out.
  17. My situation is a little different. I drew a small (.062 sphrere) endmill in a tapered toolholder. I would like to run verify and check for colisions using the whole tool and holder asembly. MIke
  18. Where is version 10?
  19. .03 WAY to deep for a .093 cutter. Try .008-.01 per pass
  20. We DO NOT check the "Optimize" box when using Restmill. It has the nasty habit of trying to dive too deeply in Z, ignoring the stepdown setting.
  21. Please explain more about "using point for row in triangles"
  22. Steel foundries have been hard hit by off shore competition and many good ones have closed. How far are you willing to travel? Harrison Steel in Harrison Indiana is still around and a good outfit.
  23. with our Fadals, we filter but always uncheck the arc designations. We also have had the machine do strange and disaterous things if this is not done.
  24. Sounds like I may have hit on a problem. If I forget to turn off arcs in the filter window my Fadal control will do all kinds of nasty stuff.
