  1. The Hurco manual says you can have 3 peck depths but I can't find what letter to use. When you do your custom drill cycle do you do it through mastercam? Or write a macro and make it modal . I have 500 hole to drill per plate and they are .002 diameter.
  2. Yes I have a couple Fadal 1 is 1993 and it works on that. Also works on my TNC control ..I would have thought a brand new control would work as well.
  3. John that works on our older control that is BNC. Our new control is ISNC.
  4. Yes I called Hurco but they didn't return my call. So now I just wait.
  5. can someone tell me how to program different peck depths using G83 deep hole cycle on a hurco win max control.. using isnc. example 1st peck 1inch, second.5 , and finish the hole with .250 pecks. also can you write a macro on this control.? I have no problem doing this on our fadal or Heidenhain control
  6. Does anyone use a Hi Def camera for setting tool lengths?
  7. Looking for a good collet chuck for holding a .002 dia. drill with .040 shank. the smallest hydraulic collet i can find is 3mm.
  8. didn't know there was different levels of isnc, but we found the parameter that needed to be changed. Thanks I will look into the different levels.
  9. we are running ISNC on our hurco. I was wonder how to change the the distance when it goes back into to the hole from .050 clearance to something smaller? we are using G83 deep hole cycle. we peck every .015 but when it goes back into the hole it stay .050 from the previous depth.
  10. Yes I called Guhring. they told 1mm was the best they can do.
  11. Part is fixtured to a solid base. and we peck every .01. thanks for the input. we will just keep plugging away. most tool suppliers havent even heard of this stuff.
  12. We tried thru coolant drills and had no luck. we only have .008 material left at the bottom of the hole and a bump on the bottom side is no good. seems the carbide pushes a little to much. I was hoping cobalt would give me a longer life, we drill 30 holes with standard hss drill then it breaks. we have to drill 500 holes in each plate.
  13. I am drill 1/32 holes in niobium. any suggestions on hss drill, cobalt or none cobalt? drilling 3/16 deep. any suggestion would help Thanks.

    Symbol

Is there some place in Mastercam that has a dia. symbol? I need to engrave it in a part. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
  15. Thanks Jay , we use translate the same way you do all the time, I made a change to your code to try and explain what I was looking for. sorry for being a pain in the butt. sometimes it is hard to explain what i am looking for, I confuse myself sometimes also. 16. Jay in your example it looks like you face the top of the. I understand that, but if you had an endmill faced the top of the part. then milled the end of the part with the same tool would it not face the top of all the parts ,then come back and mill the end of the parts? or would it do both operation then move to the next part.
  17. I just want to use the first tool to do all operations on first part , then move to next parts, then do a tool change and repeat. i don't want to finish the first part completely. to many tool changes. we will try multiple translates. Thanks
  18. Ok thanks thats what we thought, was hoping to translate by tool.
  19. is there a setting in mastercam where i can have several operations with say tool #1, rough part1, then move to part 2 and do all the operations again, then change tools. instead of it doing a single operation on each part. what it does now is faces part 1, then facing part 2, then roughs the side of part 1 , then the side of part 2. i want it to finish all operations with tool1 on part 1 ,then move to part 2. Hopefully This is not to confusing Thanks
  20. Maybe a dumb question but if I uninstall x4 x5 and x8 will it affect x9?
  21. Not sure if I should have posted this here or not, this is not mastercam related, I am rebuilding a old vertical boring mill or turret lathe . I can't find any manuals on the internet. I'm looking to find out how to adjust the gap between the table and where is turns on the ways. there is a thrust bearing on the bottom post of the table, which was taking all the load of the table plus the workpiece which I think is incorrect because it failed. just hoping someone may be familiar with this type of equipment. this machine was built in the 1930's by wmw.
  22. Thanks Guys i was just hoping for an easy way.
