Can someone help me with my hurco post? i need it to post out an m29 and a g84.2 for my ridgid tapping cycle. right now there is no m29 and it posts out just g84.
When you send an nc program from Mastercam to your hurco . do you put a cutter dia. on the tool parameter page at the control? we always have mastercam set for wear. all my other machines i have zero for the tool dia.when using mastercam . but on the old hurco vm1 we have to put in a tool dia. my machinist wants the new control to work like the VM1 is this possible?
Thanks guys I got it. I just bought X8 with mill level 2 and solids, coming from X4 mill level 1 , so im just trying to learn it , got help from inhouse the toolpaths are so much easier than screwing around with mill level 1.
we have the same problem here, we were told to look into surge protectors on the incoming power plus each machine. it will be worth it in the long run. the last spike took the drive out of my vdf lathe, by the time we found someone to replace the drive and get the machine up and run we were into $20000.
Im holding my part in a vice , material is 2.5 thick part is 2.250 thick so i have .250 to hold on to. so i milled the the profile ,now i want to get rid of the extra material . is there a parameter that tell mc to get rid of all the material outside the profile ?
Does any one have a post that works on a Hurco VMX42I with the wnimax v9.1 control? I'm not asking for a post just wondering if some is using 1 on that machine? I have a post but we cannot get it to work. any help would be apprecitated. the problem we are having is with circle milling. it always wants to mill the hoie at X0 Y0. when you Change the location say by 2 inches in the x it will just mill a 4 inch hole at X0 Y0.
thank guys. colin I will try your way. Thad I have a new hurco which came with an x6 post, but I only have x5 that is why I would like to back date, this is just until I update to x8. I just have so much work to get done I don't want the learning curve right now with the update to x8.
I'm trying to cut a 20 inch rad 0n a part 88 inches long using 2d swept...it works fine when I run the toolpath back and forth on the x axis, but if I want to use the z ,y axis and step over in the x it will not work. I am running x4 level 1 mill. it work if i use a ballnose cutter but not a bullnose. maybe I need an upgrade?
Heat the high side it will get worse then I quickly cool it with coolant and it will shrink and bend the opposite way. I do this with stainless all the time. sorry no experience with inconel. good luck.
