  1. Thank you Griveous74 but I know absolutly nothing about writing macro programs. This will actually be the first one that I will be doing. Some of what you said made sence but I'm a little confused on what I actually put into the machine. So this is the main program That goes into the main directory; PROBEIN M01 PROBING ;U must load the subrutine ;or EXTCALL "PROBING" ;U don't load the sub PROBEOUT M01 . And this is the sub program that goes in the sub directory; PROC PROBING DEF INT COUNTER, PROBING_NR DEF REAL X_POS, Y_BOSS, Z_BOSS, A_POS, A_INCR, A_ORIG X_POS=3 ;change X probing position here. PROBING_NR=2 ;number of time U want to probe the boss 4 more aquracy ;----display options: _CHBIT[10]=1 ;Display of measured result screen 0=HIDE 1=SHOW _CHBIT[11]=1 ;Acknowledgment with NC start 0=NO Acknowledge 1= Acknowledge _CHBIT[18]=0 ;1==> Measurement result screen retained until next time.. ;..measuring cycle is called on measuring cycles version 0==>No effect DATUM: G54 D1 COUNTER=0 LOOP1: REPEATB DATUM G90 G0 X=X_POS Y0 A0 Z=(3.55/2+1) _MVAR=104 _SETVAL=1.7 _ID=-(3.55/2+1) _MA=2 _KNUM=0 _PRNUM=1 _FA=5 _TSA=300 _VMS=0 _NMSP=1 CYCLE977 Y_BOSS=_OVR[6] G90 G0 X=X_POS Y=Y_BOSS Z=(3.55/2+1) _MVAR=100 _SETVAL=(1.7/2) _PRNUM=1 _MA=3 _KNUM=0 _FA=10 _TSA=300 _VMS=0 _NMSP=1 _EVNUM=0 CYCLE978 Z_BOSS=_OVR[16] IF Z_BOSS>0 A_INCR=1 ELSE A_INCR=-1 ENDIF A_POS=ACOS(Y_BOSS/0.35) A_POS=(APOS*A_INCR)+90 A_ORIG=$P_UIFR[1,A,TR] $P_UIFR[1,A,TR]=A_ORIG+A_POS COUNTER=COUNTER+1 STOPRE IF (COUNTER<PROBING_NR) GOTOB LOOP1 REPEATB DATUM G90 G0 Z=(3.55/2+1) A0 M17 ;..ends here
  2. Oh wow It did both of my screens. Opps
  3. Here is a picture of what I would like to do. Ok that didnt work. How do I upload a picture
  4. after a little research I'm wondering if this is even possible.
  5. I'm wondering if someone could help me write a probing macro. I'm new to probing and am still learning. I've got a pretty big order of parts to run and am using just an edge finder right now and its a pain. Heres what I'm doing. This is on a DMG DMF 260 with a seimens 840d control. I,ve got a part that has an off center boss. Its offsett .500 and the part is mounted in a 4th axis with that boss sticking out. I need to set my A0.0 with that boss located at 270 deg. I would like to be able to postition my probe in the y+ direction and rotate my A to touch the probe, then position my probe in the y- direction and rotate my A in the oppisite direction and touch the probe again. Then split the difference and have that set to my a0.0. That is basically what I am doing with my edge finder right now and it just takes a little while to do.
  6. Sorry if I made anyone mad yesterday. I'm just tired of the whole Haas argument. I hear that sh@# all the time and just really gets me going.
  7. That Makino is pretty darned awesome! I want one!!!
  8. Well if you bought a Haas thinking it would hold .001 tru position all day then you bought the wrong machine. Everyone knows they aint that accurate. Thats your mistake buddy. If I was trying to hold .001 tru position on a Haas I know that I would have to cut the feature smaller and check it. There are many ways to overcome machine inacuracies. Maybe you need better employees and not blame your equipment.
  9. Thats an outright lie buddy. My friends shop that I worked for for 6 years has 10 haas machines that are about 15 years old and will hold +-.0005 all day long. Its all in how they are taken care of. I've also seen alot of haas machines that where beat to sh@# and werent worth a darn.
  10. These videos are stupid! Your comparing a Ferrari to a Honda. The reason the Haas is $45,000 cheaper is cause they save a lot of money by making the machine cheaper, lighter and not as strong as the japanese machines. A lot of folks would not have gone into buisness if it wasn't for Haas. Haas will never compare to a high end machine and we all know this.
  11. I was actually thinking the same thing. Keep all the tool numbers the same and have the whole library in vericut already set up so no matter what tool I chose in mastercam It'll be ready to go in vericut. I guess you would have to leave the tool numbers alone. So you would have like "t500,t389.etc" I dont know, just an idea.
  12. Do you have the mastercam interface? We just got Vericut with the interface but I have yet to try it out. Actually I tried it once and couldnt figure it out. Or it just wasnt working corectly. They have really good customer support. Give them a call
  13. Vericut was ordered today. Yeah!!!!!! Now am I gonna be able to take the vericut model and get it to work in machine sim? Of course I will be using vericut most of the time but for a quick verify I think machine sim would work good. The vericut model should be stl as well right?
  14. Yea I did contact them and they want to charge quite a bit for it. You would think they would cut us a break considering how much we just spent with them but guess not.
  15. No that is not the same machine. It has 45 degs between b and c , ours is 90 degs. I think thats the DMU evo
  16. Does anyone have a Dmu 50 machine sim model they could share? If not could someone point in the right direction on finding information on how to create it myself. We just go our new machine up and running. We will be getting vericut here pretty soon but might still be a few weeks on that. Thanks in advance
  17. I've done something similar to what your doing and what I did was take 1 skim pass with the thread FIRST maybe like .005 deep or so and then time the keyways to the thread which is very easy then when you done broaching run the complete thread which should pick up the same lead. Easy pesy japanesey!!!
  18. Wow! just tried that and it works great.
  19. Yea I've hand coded a program like that and broke it up every 90 degrees but dont see how mastercam can do it without actually drawing out the path yourself.
  20. When threadmilling a taper thread its not cutting a true arc. As you go up in Z the arc gets bigger and bigger. I dont think you can get Mastercam to output arcs for this. At least I've never seen it.
  21. How do you get to the FTP site? The sticky on top of the page is no longer there.
  22. Thank you soooooooooooooo much Redfire. You are da man!!!!
