  1. Ok that worked. I thought I had tried that on Friday with no luck. These 5 axis paths can be tricky for sure. Thanks for the help Mr Paris
  2. Don't think Its a lead out issue. I can get it to go back to the retract distance but it wont ramp back in it will just plunge straight down, I don't want that. I would like it to just stay down and NOT violate the countainment boundary if possible.
  3. Here ya go. Look at Op 310 The links between passes is grayed out and I think that is where I think I can fix this. S_404621D_AS.Z2G
  4. Trying to use a 5 axis toolpath locked to 4 axis to do some rotary pockets but in between the passes it wants to cut the corner and go outside the containment boundary and cut where I don't want it to. You can see on the left side of the picture where it goes off the surface. I've tried messing with all the parameters but cant seem to get it to do what I want.I can upload the file if needed. Please help. Thank you
  5. Got it I think. Used Net Surface this time. FFG.MCX-7
  6. I could prolly knock it out in Rhino pretty quickly. Mastercam's Swept surface just doesn't have enough control.
  7. Trying to create a model in Mc now. Pretty tricky for sure. I can get close still doesn't quite get there. Here's the file for anyone who wants to look. Still needs trimmed up a bit. FFF.MCX-7
  8. Thanks Ron. Yea didn't really like how it looked like it was cutting the sides. Always thought that message meant check surfaces didn't work. I just need to use these paths more.
  9. Can one of you guys take a look at this real quick? Its just a simple radius surface nothing special. Just haven't used the HST toolpaths a whole lot. Just operation 21 the opticore. BLOCK.Z2G
  10. I'm doing an Opticore toolpath right now and when I select check surfaces it tells me "check surfaces will be treated as drive surfaces". Do check surfaces not work with Opticore?
  11. Not really sure what else to tell you then. It sounds like your in over your head. contact your dealer to get some training
  12. To me your WCS and center of rotations aren't correct. Until you get more training and figure out what is going on I would just rotate your part into position and set x0.0 and y0.0 in the center of the hole.
  13. Unless I'm missing something. If your not using Cycle800 (WSEC) you have to use the center of rotation of the table, you cant change it. You would also have to account for the length of your tool if rotating B.
  14. I'm curious. If that machine has a Siemens 840D, Why are you not using Cycle800 for your rotations? Makes life soooooo much simpler. Did you not get a good post or does your control maybe not have some features turned on?
  15. I'm sorry but I just don't understand what your saying.
  16. I've only peck tapped on a siemens controlled machines and just recently learned that Fanuc is able to do it as well. Is it just a Q in the G84 line? Can someone give me an example of how you use it?
  17. Just a guess but as far as I know your tool is on the Negative side of the part on the TL compared to a normal lathe. Try picking the Lathe WCS that says -D,+Z and use toolholders that face up, I think. Maybe...
  18. Sweet! Its always fun learning something new.
  19. You have to sync your chains together and then it will work. Break the top and bottom chains at your match lines ( blue lines) and use sync by branch. Make sure you start your chains at the same match line. I tried it with loft and looked good but swept should work as well.
  20. 11.4 MB. Not too big I don't think. I've run into that problem before with a computer that didn't have enough ram but the computer I have now has 32G of ram.
  21. I did a quick 5Axis curve around the edge for ya. Is that what your looking for? What else would you like me to do? QM-341-X.MCX-7
  22. I'm a little nervous now. I worked from X3 to X7 at my old job with absolutely NO problems what so ever. I would always see people complaining on here about Mastercam sucking with all its problems and bugs and just didn't get it cause I had 0 problems or bugs show up. And that was on a mediocre computer to boot. Now a week into a new job this happens. Oh and also, when I came in this morning and opened this file up for the first time, It opened up with zero of my 268 toolpath operations!!!! I almost fainted, seriously! Then a couple hours in is when the model problem happened. And this is all on a computer that is 10 times what I was using before. Which makes me think that most problems with Mastercam and other like software is all dependent on the computer your using.
  23. Never thought about removing the solid history before. Are there any drawbacks to doing that? Obviously I wouldn't be able to edit any features but I usually check everything a million times anyways.
  24. Well I think I've narrowed it down to the curves that are causing the problem, at least I think. But there is nothing wrong with them. Recreating those curves allows me to start regenerating the model though. I do have about 30 Boolean operations using the same curve. Yall think that might be it?
