    The only real rime savings I see with a pattern like that would be to complete half of the top half and mirror about the Yand then mirror the rest about the Y hth

    On the mouse crashing issue....if you're running a 3rd party mouse driver, you might try uninstalling it and see if the basic windows mouse driver works....
