  1. try this http://www.metalsuppliersonline.com/resear...eWeightCalc.asp
  2. No, it's an Okuma control (OSP-E100L)
  3. JDowe, where do the tool numbers get changed on that page? I don't see a place for tool numbers. Maybe I'm in the wrong place. Thanks
  4. No I haven't, why? What would happen?
  5. This is what I output N1130T70 N1140M06(1/4-28 RIGID TAP) N1150G90G00G54.1P2X0.Y-.44A90.S280M03 N1160G43H70Z5.M08 N1170G95 N1180M29S280 N1190G84G98Z.9R1.5F0.0357 N1200G00G80Z10.M09 N1210G94 N1220G91G00G30Z0M05 N1230M09 N1240G28X0Y0 N1250G90G00A90.
  6. I am getting odd results after posting a 1.25-12 UNJF thread with modified major diameter 1.262/1.252. Is this something new with modified major diameters. Does the X have to be modified? (or leave it for comp.) How does it effect the "H"? (1.250-12 UNJF THREAD) N540 G00 X30. Z80. 7. Is there a way to automatically use sequential tool numbers instead of crazy numbers like T4949? I would like to see tool 1 (T0101) then tool 2 (T0202) etc. Any ideas? I see that you could "edit selected operations" and "renumber" there. Is there a way to do it automatically?
  8. quote: I've heard folks talking about stock flip What is that? I never heard of it ! Please explain
  9. it's one I haven't seen. I even went and asked the lathe geek that came from a shop with lathe Fanuc controls.
  10. Mornin' I looked into a bit this morning and I see your concern. I usually only use the "computer" as the compensation type. I did try all options and agree that it does violate the part. I'm not sure if its a bug or not. Hopefully someone can help resolve this. Good luck
  11. I see what you are saying. I'll look into it in more depth in the morning. Sleepy eyes will not help the situation right now. Been here since 5 AM.
  12. babolino, In your groove finish parameters page, change the compensation type to " computer " When in control it is compensating the tool width ot your tool. PS..... heck of a groove
  13. Sorry Randy, We have only Okumas here and one Mazak. The Okumas use G73 (longitudinal grooving) and G74 (transverse grooving) (the G75 in Okumas are auto chamfering). Good luck (back to the top)
  14. LOL,, At least there was an answer, 2 yrs, new pc, newer versions of MC etc. Gotta love technology
  15. Double click the tool, go to parameter page, bottom left are the comps.
  16. How did you get burned milling solids? I seem to find it easier to mill with solids than surfaces. Is there something I have been missing??? Thanks
  17. Thanks, I'll have to give it a try in X. Once you get burned you tend to stay away from features.
  18. I did it in the tool. When asked to apply to all operations using this tool I answered yes. ...... I am always afraid to use "edit common perameters". I got burned one time in V9. Unless they fixed it in X. When I went in to change coolant to on in V9 it also changed other things. Did that get fixed in X ?? Thanks
  19. Hey there Jim, Just go to “machine type”, select the machine and continue as usual.
  20. I tried the same with a out of the box post and had the same result.
  21. Look in the tool description under the parameter page, the compensation is on the lower left.
  22. I have never done this but I believe if you add another machine group it should work. I have done this with lathe and it worked fine, as of yet I still have not done it with milling. PS Welcome to the Forum
