SO with the previous Mastercams/MC4SW I was able to fudge routing machine definitions for posting by changing the file extensions. This worked quite well.... but now that I have upgraded to 2017MC4SW, and have no issues posting the machines I need. I have an issue now whereas older files cannot post do to having a router definition set, and I have no knowledge on how to remove this definition to replace it with a working one. IS there any way to dump what is set and replace it with the default mill? Selecting the Machine Group Properties>Files>Machine Tool Path does nothing... I can click the "replace" a million times and nothing will happen.

Hi guys, Can somebody help me with my issue? I need to nest toolpath from sveral files with defined toolpaths. I have some parts where are defined the toolpaths from both sides. But the toolpaths are in two operation groups. When I import the file as a cluste the operations are splited in two clusters. I am not able to join both together in one part. I have checked previous versions and it works well in X6. From X7 the same function "Add operations cluster from files" behaves a different way. Is there a setting for this? Any idea? Thanks.

For those unaware there has been a NETHook included as part of Mastercam (for quite sometime) that allows batch processing of layered dxf, dwg and mcx files utilizing machining strategies. A machining strategy is a list of level names that are associated (read: mapped) to Mastercam operations. There are two new tutorials that walk you through two examples of using this NETHook, one for Router (kitchen cabinets) and one for Mill (mold bases). Feel free to reply to this thread for any ATP related questions or requests. http://www.mastercam.com/en-us/Support/Tutorials/Mastercam

Okay... Trying to figure out how to program a Techno Router with MFSW. I have all the control, machine def, and post files for Mcam X9 but would like the option to program straight from MFSW. I've tried changing the 3 file extensions from .RMD to .MMD, etc. - but doesn't seem to work. What am I missing? Can it be done? Suggestions...?

We have just upgraded to 7 from 5 and our drillblock keeps ramping down into the parts. should be a rapid movement then verticle drop in z. When sent to the tech support was told that the code is correct. That may be correct but we are still breaking drills. When the conversion was done we got an error message saying the drill was corrupt. we asked why not remove it and install a new one ,still dont know why that cant be done. This has been going on for over a month can anyone figure this out. we ran fine with 5 Dave Schiller

Any chance on a book being developed to address 4 and 5 axis router programming? I am working on training programming with MasterCam to a local company with several routers and find little to help support my efforts. I believe that they only have a router license so milling tutorials won't work and is inaccessible to them.

I have a Mastercam X4 and I currently run T-Mold cutters along the edge of some parts. My question is: How can I get Mastercam to understand that every time I select this tool, it should send the tool to a "Ref Home" position and put an M00(stop) in place before it runs. This allows my guys to lift the MDF and take away the sheet before we push "START" again and allow the T-Mold cutter to do its job. Thanks for any help Nino
