This is a more complex project. It does, however, require Mastercam Art which is an add-on product (that cannot be used with the Home Learning Edition). Students will learn how to import a graphic into Mastercam, incorporate it into the drawing and to place it at a desired location on the geometry. In addition, they will learn how to create surfaces in Mastercam Art and machine them with the specific art base surface toolpath. This is a Mastercam X9 Single Project. The Single Project series offers a wide variety of engaging projects that can be purchased à-la-carte in eBook (PDF) format. These projects range in difficulty but are generally targeting beginner-intermediate Mastercam students. Each of these projects can be machined. This project is also included in the Project Workbook, available in print form here. Difficulty: This project requires Mastercam Mill or Router and the Mastercam Art Add-On Note: The X9 HLE requires 64bit versions of Windows 7 or newer. More about system requirements can be found here. Device Compatibility

  5. Hey Gang, Recently updated to X9 from X7 and can't get any window or dialog positions to save positions. They stay where positioned until restarting Mastercam, then they revert back to the original locations. I also can't seem to get the columns in the Tool selection portion of the Common Parameters window to remember its settings. When I installed X9, I installed for Everyone and I'm a member of the Administrators group. Also tried running As Administrator with sames results. Anyone have a solution? 14. Version 1.0

The CAD Import & Mill Advanced Toolpaths Training Tutorial consists of projects and accompanying practice exercises. It is intended for intermediate to experienced Mastercam users who are primarily importing 3D geometry from another CAD software package. It is strongly recommended to have a good understanding of 2D machining (provided in the Mill Essentials Training Tutorial, for example) before beginning this book. Each project explains how to prepare the imported geometry using levels, how to check for problems in the geometry and how to move the geometry to set the work zero. All of the parts are designed with machinability in mind and include suggested fixtures and tool setups. Clearly laid out objectives and step previews make it easier than ever to follow along. This book covers Surface Finish and Roughing toolpaths with an emphasis put on the advanced Surface High Speed toolpaths. Other topics include STL Stock creation and its use in solid model verification and how to create and manage Stock models in the Toolpath Manager. Machine Simulation is used to check for collisions between the part, the tool and any of the machine’s components.

  15. Hello everyone, I tried contacting our local reseller about this problem, but they told me to completely wipe and reinstall mastercam to fix this, and with IT involved, it could take forever. There has to be an easier way to fix this... One of our programmers was trying to set sane defaults for himself for the Drill toolpath (tip comp, clearance planes, etc.) and managed to save it in a way which it now no longer pulls the type of cycle from the tool. When pulling a tap from the library, it no longer switches to Tap Cycle, but stays on Drill/Counterbore. Same with drills that have peck cycles defined, it just stays on Drill/Counterbore and doesn't switch to Peck Cycle or Chip Break. I am our shop's resident mastercam expert, but I am at a loss. Can anyone help me out? I would really appreciate the guidance to fix the potentially tap/drill breaking issue.
