Mastercam 2020 Open CL error message

Hi everyone,

Sometimes, but not every single time, when I open Mastercam 2020 I get this message:

 

I recently purchased a brand new workstation laptop, Lenovo ThinkPad P53, with a NVIDIA QUADRO T1000 graphics card. I've updated my graphics card to the latest driver, version 442.74, via NVIDIA website. I've also checked that my current Open CL version was 1.2 or later.

I checked other threads with similar problems but none had an exact solution to this problem. Can anyone help me solve this issue please?

Are you sure your laptop is using the quadro card

Many default to on board graphics to save battery power

On the Dell I have, if you go into the device manager and you see 2 try this

On dell's you have to go into the Bios and disable the internal Graphics card.

What I posted above worked on mine...that card no longer functions...

It wouldn't on mine I kept getting random crashes and errors. When I went in the BIOS and disabled it my system ran much better, not just Mastercam.

When I do what JP suggests my graphics go blank....! Dell M6800 Laptop.

That's exactly what I did it on...

I am still Win 7 and having some other issues as well. I am waiting to sort it out when I am better prepared to deal with it.

I am on Win10...I wonder if that might be a difference.

Once we are back (on site) to work I will update it to Windows 10 and sort everything out.

That M6800 is probably using Nvidia Optimus

I know my old M4600 does

It's swaps video card usage from onboard to Quadro or Geforce graphics

to save battery power when the Quadro/Geforce card is not necessary

use this search for more info

enable nvidia optimus

It was set to Auto-Select....Changed it to the High-Performance Nvidia Processor!

I have Nvidia GTX 1650 with OpenCL 3.0. I tried with changing the option from Auto select to Higher performance but still the notification came. What should I do

You could try updating the video drivers, but I'm guessing that card does not support a high enough level of Open CL

It will still work though
